It is time to take extra care to make sure Syrian hamsters don't get too cold overnight. They have a nasty habit of trying to hibernate if the temperature drops below 61 degrees F, and it usually doesn't end well and they don't wake up in the morning.

How I keep this from happening is by using seed heating mats under my Syrian cages, and turn them on when the temperature is getting close to 63 deg F in my Rodentry. The seed heating mats provide a gentle heat that keeps the cages out of the danger zone without getting too hot. They come in different sizes so you can pick the one that matches your cage the best.
DO NOT use reptile heaters, they are too hot for hamsters. Human heating pads get too hot as well and they only stay on for 20 to 30 minutes before shutting off.
I also recommend adding a thermometer near to where your Syrian cage is.

Of course, you can also keep your house a little warmer at night, but that can be an expensive option, and also might be too warm for the human occupants.

This year I am installing an automatic thermostat that will turn on and off with my preset temperatures. I hope this will work as expected, it will be so helpful.

Two Holland Lop does are still available from my current litter. A $50 deposit can be placed on my website furballcritters.com using the Chinchilla or Rabbit Deposit page. You would then have 2 weeks to pick up and pay the remainder. The total price is $200 plus tax. I can also microchip them for $20 each. This only cover the chip and implantation. You will also need to register the chip with Home Again for $19.99 which lasts the life of the bunny.

The bunnies are growing and eating hay and pellets in addition to nursing. They are 7 weeks old now. There are 1 buck and 2 does.
Deposits of $50 can be placed on the Chinchilla and Rabbit Deposit page on my website furballcritters.com and the rest can be paid upon pickup when ready on 10/15/25. $200 plus tax.
They can also be microchipped for $20 extra. This does not include registration with Home Again. It costs $19.99 for the rabbits lifetime and you will need to take care of that yourself.

They will be ready to go home on 8/8/25 and the balance of $150 plus tax will be due on or before pickup.

At this point, the white tri-color appears to be a doe, and the harlequin and the harlequin VM are both bucks. I will check them again in a few weeks to make sure I was correct the first time. Little bunnies can be tricky to s*x.
