Please help them if you can! They do a great job helping kitties πββ¬
Hello Friends, we have some bad news. On the afternoon of September 2nd, an SUV traveling at high speed crashed into the entrance of The Dancing Cat. While the building has sustained significant damage, we are grateful that all of the cats remained unharmed and did not escape. One volunteer suffered a minor injury and is expected to recover. All cats who were currently residing in our lounge have been evacuated to foster homes. We are tremendously grateful to the volunteers who stepped up within hours of the accident to take in all of the cats who were onsite. We are so fortunate that the damages were to the building alone and that nobody was sitting at the bus stop bench that was run over in the accident.
We are devastated to board up our doors while we figure out all of the next steps in the rebuild process. At this time we have no idea how long the process will take and what it will entail as we work with professionals to assess and determine how to make repairs. The car not only inflicted tremendous damage to the building, it ruined our beloved mural by renowned local artist and longtime volunteer Roan Victor.
We appeal to you to help us cover the lost revenue we will be experiencing as we are closed to the public. Admissions to The Dancing Cat go towards our operating costs and to the cost of care for our cats both in the lounge and in foster homes.
We are shaken up and understandably saddened by these events, but want to thank everyone who has already reached out offering their help. We are going to re-open The Dancing Cat as soon as possible! To donate: www.thedancingcat.org/building
