Summer Pet Care Fact #3

Leaving pets in parked vehicles — even “just for a minute” — can become deadly quickly.

On an 85° day, vehicle temperatures can exceed 100° in minutes, even with windows cracked.

If your pet can’t safely go inside with you, it’s safest to leave them at home in the air conditioning.

A quick errand isn’t worth the risk.

Technology helps us practice better medicine. In House Diagnostics!

From blood chemistry machines to complete blood counts and in-house testing, our diagnostic equipment allows us to gather important information quickly when evaluating your pet.

Whether we’re monitoring chronic illness, screening healthy pets, or working through emergency cases, diagnostics help guide our recommendations and treatment plans.

Some of the best moments in veterinary medicine happen on the floor.

Not every visit is about procedures or medications — sometimes it’s simply taking a moment to help a nervous patient feel safe and comfortable. All patients need some love, even for a heart check up

At Arden Road and Arden South Animal Clinic, we care deeply about building trust with pets and their families while providing honest, compassionate care.

Every patient matters here.

Summer Pet Care Fact #2

Pets can get heatstroke faster than most owners realize.

Heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, or collapse can all be signs of overheating. Brachycephalic breeds like Bulldogs and Pugs are especially at risk during hot Texas weather.

Heatstroke is a medical emergency.

Always provide shade, fresh water, and avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat.

Vaccine handling and storage matter.

At Arden Road and Arden South Animal Clinic, we carefully monitor vaccine storage and handling protocols to help maintain product integrity and provide reliable preventive care for your pets.

Vaccines remain one of the most important tools we have for protecting dogs and cats from preventable disease.

Prevention is always better than treatment.

Organized prep. Attention to detail.

Every procedure at Arden Road and Arden South Animal Clinic starts long before surgery begins. Instrument care, sterilization protocols, and surgical preparation are part of how we help keep patients safe and provide consistent veterinary care for the pets of West Texas.

It’s the small details behind the scenes that matter most when your pet is in our hands.

Summer Pet Care Fact #1

Did you know asphalt can burn your dog’s paws in seconds during a West Texas summer?

If the pavement is too hot for your hand for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet’s feet. Early morning and late evening walks are the safest option during extreme heat.

Quick tip: Grass is usually much cooler than concrete or asphalt.

Stay safe and keep those paws protected this summer.
