✨ Meet Sadie Jae! 🐾❤️

Sweet Sadie Jae came to us a little over a week ago as an emergency after an accident involving her back leg. After Dr. Davidson and our veterinary team performed X-rays, we discovered that her leg was broken.

That same day, our team carefully placed a splint to help stabilize the injury. At her recheck appointment, follow-up X-rays showed that her leg wasn’t healing as well as we had hoped. The good news is that Sadie Jae is now scheduled for surgical repair with one of the trusted orthopedic surgeons we work with.

She has been such a brave little girl throughout this journey, and we’re looking forward to helping her get back on all four paws. 🩺💕

We’ll be sharing updates on Sadie Jae’s recovery over the coming weeks, so be sure to follow along and cheer her on!

🐾 Small Animal Fun Fact of the Day! 🐾

Did you know? 🐱

A cat’s purr isn’t just a sign they’re happy! Cats may also purr when they’re nervous, in pain, or even while they’re healing. Some researchers believe the vibrations from a cat’s purr may help promote healing of bones, tissue, and can even help lower your blood pressure.

No matter the reason, a purring kitty is always worth a little extra love! ❤️

🎉 Wishing Ethan the Best on His Next Adventure! 🎉

After a little over a year with the Los Caballos Veterinary Clinic family, it’s time for us to wish Ethan farewell as he begins an exciting new chapter—Veterinary School! 🩺🐾

Ethan has been an incredible part of our team, always bringing a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and compassionate care to every patient and client he met. We are so grateful for everything he’s done during his time with us, and our clinic has truly been better because of him.

While we’re sad to see him go, we couldn’t be more excited to watch him chase his dream of becoming a veterinarian. We know he’s going to do amazing things, and we’re so proud to have been a small part of his journey.

Please join us in wishing Ethan the very best of luck as he takes this next big step! 🍀🎓 We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.

Congratulations, Ethan—you’ll always be part of the Los Caballos family! ❤️🐶🐱

🎉 Help us give a warm welcome to the newest members of our team! 🎉

🌟Meet Brad🌟
Our new Practice Manager! We’re so excited to have him join our clinic and can’t wait for you all to get to know him.
Brad has been working in veterinary medicine for 20 years and brings a wealth of experience from General Practice, Emergency, and Specialty hospitals.🐾His passion for animal care and helping veterinary teams thrive makes him a wonderful addition to our family.🐕🐈
When he’s not at the clinic, Brad is spending time with his two furry companions: Eilean, his lovable tri-pod, and Victor, his mixed-breed pup. 🐾❤️

🌟 Meet Clara! 🌟
🎓 Clara is a proud Texas A&M graduate and a devoted pet parent to three adorable fur babies:
🐶 Midas, a Golden Retriever
🐱 Mittens, an orange kitten full of personality
🐆 Dennis, her beautiful Bengal cat
One of Clara’s favorite parts of veterinary medicine is building relationships with clients. She believes caring for pet parents is just as important as caring for their beloved pets, and she’s passionate about making every visit a positive experience.
✨ Just for fun, we asked Clara:
“If you could treat any exotic or mythical animal, what would it be?”
🐙 Without hesitation, she said an octopus!

Be sure to say hello and give Brad and Clara a warm welcome the next time you stop by the clinic! We’re excited for this new chapter and know you’ll love getting to know them both as much as we have. 🎊

🌞🐾 Triple-digit temperatures are here! 🐾🌞

With temperatures expected to soar above 100°F, it’s important to remember that if it’s hot for us, it’s even hotter for our pets.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your furry family members safe:

💧 Provide fresh, cool water at all times and refill it frequently.
🌳 Keep pets indoors during the hottest parts of the day whenever possible.
🚶 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when the pavement has had time to cool.
✋ Test the pavement with the back of your hand. If you can’t comfortably hold it there for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle—even with the windows cracked. Temperatures can become deadly within minutes.
❄️ Offer cooling options like cooling mats, fans, frozen treats, or shallow kiddie pools (with supervision).
🐶 Be extra cautious with puppies, kittens, senior pets, overweight pets, flat-faced breeds, and pets with medical conditions, as they are more susceptible to heat-related illnesses.

🚨 Know the signs of heatstroke:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red or pale gums
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Stumbling or collapse
• Seizures

If you notice any of these signs, move your pet to a cool area immediately, offer cool (not ice-cold) water, apply cool towels to their body, and contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital right away.

Let’s work together to keep our four-legged family members safe this summer! ☀️❤️

📸 Share a photo of how your pet stays cool in the comments—we’d love to see them!

❤️ Why should your pet stay on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention year-round?

Parasites don’t take a season off—and neither should your pet’s protection! Year-round prevention helps:
🐾 Prevent potentially life-threatening heartworm disease.
🐾 Protect against fleas that can infest your home and cause itchy skin and allergies.
🐾 Reduce the risk of tick-borne diseases that can affect both pets and people.
🐾 Prevent intestinal parasites that can make pets sick and may even be transmitted to humans.
🐾 Keep your pet healthy, comfortable, and ready for every adventure, no matter the season.

Not sure which preventative is best for your furry family member? Our team is happy to help you choose the right option based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and health needs. Give us a call or stop by—we’re always here to help keep your pets happy and protected! 🐾💙

🐶🐱💉 A healthy life starts with prevention.

Whether you’ve welcomed home a playful puppy or a curious kitten, keeping up with their vaccines is one of the best gifts you can give them. Young pets have developing immune systems, making them more vulnerable to serious, and sometimes life-threatening, diseases.

✨ Vaccinations help:
🐾 Protect your pet from preventable illnesses.
🐾 Keep other pets in your community safe.
🐾 Give your new best friend the healthiest start possible.

Staying on schedule with your pet’s vaccine series is essential for building strong, long-lasting immunity. If you’ve recently added a furry family member to your home, now is the perfect time to schedule their wellness exam and discuss their vaccination plan with your veterinarian.

Because every wag, purr, zoomie, and cuddle deserves a healthy future. ❤️🐶🐱
