Time and time again, Lee Asher's defenders reject the idea that anything could be wrong at The Asher House.

After all, we're told that Lee "saves hundreds of dogs."

In this case our concern isn't about the dogs we see in videos.

It's about dogs like Estrella who become invisible and forgotten.

Meet Estrella ❤️

Estrella was a beautiful 4-year-old dog sitting in a California shelter with a cold and running out of time. The rescuers and networkers advocating for her had fallen in love with her sweet, playful personality and worked tirelessly to save her before her euthanasia deadline.

Then came the news they had been hoping for: The Asher House said they would take her.

May 15, 2024, Estrella’s transporter posted she was going to the Asher House. She looked happy. She looked hopeful. She was finally getting the second chance so many people had fought for.

July 19, 2024, Lee posted a video showing Estrella in a very brief clip, even stating “Estrella will be available”.
No rescue video, no usual show and tell…she was just there.

July 23, 2024, according to ODA records, Estrella is listed as “euthanized-medically”.

What happened between the joyful dog who left the shelter on her Freedom Ride, was seen briefly in clip at the Asher House and then she was gone?

Not a rescue manual.
Not a dog training book.
Not a book about animal welfare.

A book published in 2017 specifically about growing an Instagram following through branding, content creation, audience growth, captions, and account management.

At the time, almost nobody knew who Lee Asher was.

Today, he has millions of followers, a multimillion-dollar nonprofit, national media attention, sponsorships, books, merchandise, retreats, and one of the largest audiences in animal rescue.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence.

Maybe it isn’t.

What’s fascinating isn’t the book itself.

It’s how closely the title mirrors the story that followed.

And it’s hard to ignore that the book title was positioned front and center—clearly visible and readable in the photo.

The image doesn’t prove anyone’s intentions.

But it does capture a moment in time before the fame, before the millions of followers, before the millions in donations, and before The Asher House became a household name.

Because when you look at where things started—and where they ended up—you have to wonder:

Was the rescue ever the mission?

Or was the rescue the vehicle to his fame?

One photo.
One book.
One question.

Hey Lee…we heard some whispers that you told your “special followers” last year the DOJ investigation is over.

According to the same whispers, the DOJ was going to issue a statement saying they didn’t find anything and you’re good to go. 🤨🤨

So…where is that alleged statement because we keep getting confirmation it’s still ongoing. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Lee's blindly loyal fans - they will make an excuse and protect him in every circumstance.

A joint around a sick dog? No big deal.
A dog hu***ng him on camera? No big deal.
Making a sexual comment about it? No big deal.

Then there are experienced rescuers who see red flags because we've spent years working around animals and understand what professionalism looks like.

It's amazing how the standard changes depending on who's holding the camera.
If a female rescuer sat on camera with a joint, let a dog hump her, then announced to thousands of followers that the dog had ej@culated on her, people would be starting a petition to have the animals removed from her.

A 6'3", 200-pound man wasn't overpowered by a 50-pound dog. He chose to keep filming.
The issue isn't that Enzo jumped up. Dogs do dog things.
The issue is that instead of redirecting him, getting him off, or focusing on a dog with an upper respiratory infection, Lee turned it into a joke and publicly announced that the dog "ej@culated" on him.

And as for the joint? Most responsible dog owners don't sit around smoking next to a sick dog while filming content.
Funny how every questionable thing is excused as "no big deal," yet the dogs are always the ones paying the price for the poor judgment.

To all of the Melindas and Karens (now that's funny) out there who "don't believe any of this" - There's a beauty in facts. They exist whether you believe them or not.

And telling us to "get a life"??

So KAREN, you want us to ignore the dead and missing animals?
Ignore the financial audits?
Ignore the discrepancies in public statements vs financial filings/Oregon Department of Agriculture records?

“Millions spent on branding.
But where’s the marketing for the dogs?”

The Asher House says adoption is part of its mission. So why do so many adoptable dogs look invisible?
Reputable rescues know a single photo can change a dog’s life. They invest time into good lighting, videos, personality spotlights, accurate bios, and content that helps adopters emotionally connect with the DOG.

But at The Asher House, the focus always seems to come back to Lee:
• Lee on pack walks
• Lee responding to criticism
• Lee’s merch
• Lee’s CBD
• Lee + Lillie branding
• Lee as the product
Meanwhile, many adoptable dogs appear sad, shut down, confused, or barely showcased at all.
Out of 35 adoptable dogs currently featured (at the time video was recorded), only about 11 appear visibly relaxed or happy. The rest often look stressed, uncertain, or emotionally flat. And despite Lee publicly claiming all adoptable dogs are cat tested, 11 are still listed as “cats unknown.”

Seems to be another case of "what Lee says doesn't mean it's actually true".

If millions are being spent on branding, media, and promotion… why aren’t the dogs the stars?
Every reputable rescue understands the goal: Make people fall in love with the DOG.

So why does the public seem to know more about Lee Asher than the actual animals needing homes?

To the whistleblowers carrying the weight of what they witnessed in silence…

We know the sleepless nights.
The guilt.
The fear of speaking up.
The heartbreak of watching animals suffer while the public only sees carefully edited videos, smiling photos, and viral moments.

Many of you stayed quiet for a long time because you loved the animals. Because you hoped things would improve. Because you were afraid no one would believe you.

But eventually, the truth becomes too heavy to carry alone.

Whistleblowers are not “haters.”
They are often the people who cared the most.

The people who cried behind closed doors.
The people who chose the animals over their own comfort.

History has shown us time and time again:
Without whistleblowers, abuse continues unchecked.
Without whistleblowers, the vulnerable have no voice at all.

To every person who has spoken up or is still trying to find the courage, you are not alone!!

The message? "Be the good".

Then there’s the other Lee Asher.

He's foul mouthed, rough with animals, angry, and completely different than what's posted on his main social media pages.

So which one is the real Lee Asher? And do you think the animals are safe around him?
