Wednesday is trim day. Got the girls a big bale of grass hay and locked them up by the barn. They are happy.

well, today was a non-horse riding day. However, Monroe did help put together. Gigit’s grain and supplements for tonight and tomorrow morning. She’s an extremely helpful little girl.

let’s just say day two of horse responsibility wasn’t quite what Monroe expected and the reason why I didn’t buy her a pony. She wanted to ride, but not everything else
There are three things that I have Monroe do besides 5 to 10 minutes of riding.

1. brush Gigit for about 2 minutes
2. do all of the leading
3. prepare Gigit’s grain & supplements for night feeding and feed Gigit.

Once she is done, Monroe likes to have fun.

Last six months, my little granddaughter, Momo has been coming out faithfully and helping me out at Shaw stable.  Last month she’s been telling her mom that she needs a pony. today is her official start of taking care of a horse and the responsibilities of horse ownership tailored for a three year-old child.

Gigit was under my care for a couple years and all of my grandchildren loves this sweet mare. I asked her owner if I could use her to teach Momo how to ride which her owner agreed to.

Monroe was carrying her saddle out to the truck in the one picture. We walked around the arena two times with sweet little Gigit in another picture while AJ lead and I was next to Monroe as she was learning how to say whoa and click and squeeze to get the horse to walk. One photo Monroe help put together Gigit’s grain and supplements for her pm meal.

she was very excited and kept telling me that she could do it by herself and didn’t need help .

I am having a proud grandma moment

Poor Jaxon has been all by himself at my house for the last month. I brought my fluffy guy Gink and Pickles home for the summer. at this point, they’re just treating him like the redheaded stepchild. Poor Jaxon to go from a bunch of mares who adore him to geldings who don’t care and tell him he’s ugly. 😂

my little helper, this morning is taking a half a bale of hay down to the horses in the wheelbarrow. In those moments, what do you do but pick up the side of the tray and let her think she is doing it herself. 😂
