You don’t always get to see a lot of my boys. Maybe playing in the background of a foster video, or the occasional co-sleeping picture. So here they are!
From left to right we have:
Thore (9years old)- aka ‘Bubba-Dee’ is a pitbull/cane corso mix. Thore was the first foster we had after losing keeper in 2021. After having her for almost 15 years I was NOT ready. I had applied to foster for the rescue Thore came from, before keeper passed. Exactly one month to the day after Keep died, I got a call asking if I could take in an emergency foster for just four days. I said yes and here we are! Thore has epilepsy, severe anxiety and a back leg deformity but he doesn’t let that stop him. He’s a big dumb sweetheart. Heavy on the ‘dumb’ part. Mister had two braincells and they’re fighting for third place. 😂🖤 (we don’t tell him that)
Kratos- aka ‘Tato’🥔 is such a baby. He’s a Merle American Bulldog. Kratos came from a family who decided he needed more attention than what they could give him with their three small children and twin pregnancy. After meeting Kratos I completely agreed. He is IN YOUR FACE for love every single moment that he can be. We have worked heavily on boundaries and respecting the fact that OTHER dogs need pets too. He’s coming around 😉 besides being clingier than your toxic ex, he is a pretty much perfect dog. He’s got the best temperament with other dogs and people so he just had to join the pack.
Draximos (4years old)- aka Moose-Bow. This big boy is the gentle alpha of the house. He’s probably one of the most calm and tolerant dogs I’ve met, and really reminds me so much of Keeper. 💔 that dog and I shared a soul and Drax is just so much like her. Drax stayed with us after being in foster for another rescue for almost a year(last two months with us). He has some of the most severe skin allergies I have ever seen. We have yet to fully diagnose him after two years of being his official owners. We know he can eat beef as his only protein and he’s severely allergic to grain. We have some allergy testing coming up at Aumsville Animal Clinic next month to hopefully get some more answers about potential environmental allergens. Anyways, Drax, also called Big Poppa, is definitely my boy. Such a sweet gentle itchy giant!
Don’t ask me where the nicknames came from be cause I do not know! They just happen 😂 thanks for taking the time to read about my boys. I’ll post Keeper’s story soon. Hers is really worth a read.
Cannot overstate how much I appreciate you all for supporting my journey in starting a rescue. I worked in rescue all my life pretty much. Started rescuing dogs with my mom at the age of 5, but I never imagined how many ups and downs I’d face through this whole thing and your continued support, donations, and encouragement has really brought me through ever moment where I’ve wanted to quit. So thank you. And as always, spay and neuter your pets! 🐾
