OUR MISSION
MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended, or in other types of

vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication, and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and the general public.

Say hello to Merlin! Merlin is a handsome guinea pig who is around 1.5 years old. He is an absolute sweetheart who loves munching on leafy greens and snacking on orchard grass. To get his foster family's attention, he wheeks for treats! Merlin is in Trust Training due to shyness but will make strides with patience and time. He will need a piggy buddy in his adoptive home. Even though they are small, pocket pets leave such a special place in our hearts. MNPPR lost one of our Hedgehog animal ambassadors this week: Big Mama.💔

During her time on the team, Big Mama participated in over 10 different public Pet A Hedgehog events, private AHS Camp events, and some private Vet Teaching Program events. Her humans, Kathy and her husband, wrote this about her:

"RIP to our sweet lil hedgehog, Evelyn aka Big Mama. She brought us joy and had such a sweet gentleness; she will be missed. My sweetheart, mama girl. She was an incredible ambassador for hedgies. She made a lot of people around the Twin Cities very happy. What a love."
