This Is How Grubby Paws Rescue Inc. Came to Be
Sometimes the smallest things in life lead us to the biggest blessings. For me, it all began with an adoption notice on Petfinder for a sweet little girl named Matilda.
I completed the rather lengthy application and submitted it, never realizing that this one decision would introduce me to two very special people and a mission that would become close to my heart.
Shortly afterward, I received a phone call to review my application. That was when I first became acquainted with Laura and Eric Grubbs.
During our conversation, I learned about Laura's trip to Mexico, where she had worked alongside a local family dedicated to helping abandoned dogs and puppies. These animals had been left without the most basic necessities of life: food, clean water, shelter, and someone to care.
Laura brought Matilda back with her. After months of veterinary visits, grooming, treatments, and lots of love, Matilda was finally ready to find her forever home.
And that was the beginning of my association with the Grubbs!
It didn't take long for me to realize just how dedicated, compassionate, and selfless Laura and Eric are when it comes to animal rescue. They had already been working with other rescue organizations, providing financial support, coordinating transportation, helping with food, vaccinations, spay and neuter services, and arranging relocation for animals in need.
Their commitment went far beyond simply wanting to help. They were making a difference, one animal at a time.
It was during this time that Laura and Eric took the next big step and established their own nonprofit organization, Grubby Paws Rescue Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
I was honored when they asked me to join their board of directors. Having gotten to know them and witnessed their dedication firsthand, it was an easy decision.
Over the years, countless families have discovered the special blessing that comes with adopting one of these precious animals. All they really want is a warm bed, good food, a safe place to call home, and the love they so deserve.
In return, they give us something priceless: unconditional love, companionship, loyalty, and a place in our families that only a beloved pet can fill.

The portrait accompanying this introduction is of the two founders of Grubby Paws Rescue Inc., Laura and Eric Grubbs. They are truly two of the most loving, caring, and giving people you could ever hope to meet. Their hearts for animals and their willingness to give so much of themselves are what make this organization so special.
But their work can only continue with the help of people who believe in their mission.
