We started the day with 3… and ended with 2 going back to the shelter. 💔🐾

Rocket found his forever home today! 🎉❤️ But sadly, his sister Liberty and brother Uncle Sam had to head back to the shelter without a family of their own.

These sweet babies are around 4 months old, mixed breeds, and are good with dogs, kids AND cats! 🐶🐱👧❤️ They absolutely loved all the attention they received today and soaked up every cuddle and belly rub.

Now we’re hoping their turn is next. 🙏 Liberty and Uncle Sam deserve to leave the shelter for the last time and finally have families to call their own.

🐾 HANK WAS THE PERFECT GENTLEMAN TODAY! 🐾

Hank had such a great day getting out of the shelter today, and he was an the best boy the entire time. ❤️ It was so nice seeing him relax, enjoy himself, and soak up all the love and attention.

Hank is a big, lovable American Bulldog mix — about 90 lbs of love! He loves being close to his people, giving you his paw, and getting all the attention he can. 🥹❤️

🐾 Hank is dog selective, so a meet & greet with any resident dog would be needed
🐾 Great with kids
🐾 Neutered, vaccinated & microchipped
🐾 And best of all… Hank is a SPONSORED DOG thanks to the amazing Seven X Motors! ❤️

Today showed us once again what an amazing dog Hank is outside of the shelter. He just needs someone to give him the chance to have days like this every day.

Spooky season is almost here… and Spooky, Boo & Fang are hoping they won’t spend Halloween at the shelter! 👻🦇⛓️

These three adorable little ghouls are 4–5 month old mixed breeds who came all the way from a rural shelter in Kentucky to the SPCA in search of a brighter future, filled with learning tricks and getting treats from families of their very own. 🧡

They may be a little timid when you first meet them, but give them some time to come out of their shells and you’ll discover just how fun, playful, active, and energetic these pups can be!

All they need now is someone willing to give them a chance. Can we get these goblins into loving homes before Halloween? 🏡🎃

🐾 OUR PET FOOD PANTRY IS RUNNING LOW 🐾

Times are tough, and more families have been coming to us for help feeding their fur babies. ❤️ We would much rather help fill a food bowl than see someone have to surrender a beloved pet because they’re struggling.

No one should have to choose between feeding their family and feeding their animals.

While our shelter animals require specific foods, our community pantry does not. Any brand of dog or cat food, wet or dry, can help someone in need.

We want our community to know there is somewhere to turn when times get hard. There is no shame in asking for help. ❤️

Every bag and every can helps keep pets with the families who love them. 🐾

Today The Sullivan County Animal Shelter-SPCA will be at the Harvest Festival from 11-4 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts with the cutest pups and Hank the tank whose be at the shelter for a long while , looking for thier forever home. We will also have merchandise and raffles . All proceeds go directly to the animals.❤️🐾

🎉 Phoenix Has Found His Forever Home! 🎉

When Phoenix first arrived at our shelter, he was critically ill and terrified — shut down and unsure if the world was safe. He was immediately rushed to our amazing partner vet for emergency care.

Once he was medically stable and came back to us, that fear was still there. That’s when our trainer Isabelle and her wonderful dog Pandora stepped in. With their patience and gentle guidance, we watched Phoenix slowly come out of his shell. Phoenix went into a foster home with Isabelle‘s aunt and continued to learn and grow. Little by little, the fear melted away, and in its place came the sweetest, sassiest boy you could ever meet.

Today, that transformation came full circle. Phoenix left our shelter with a wonderful couple — and a new canine sibling, an older dog who’s ready to show him exactly what it means to be a beloved, cherished pet.

From critically ill and terrified to happy, loved, and heading home — this is why we do what we do. 🐾

Congratulations, Phoenix. Go be the good boy you were always meant to be. ❤️

🐾 JUST A DOG WHO WANTS TO KNOW HE’S SAFE 🐾

Moose isn’t asking for much. He just wants someone to show him that he’s safe, that he’s loved, and that this time… he won’t be let down. ❤️

After spending the beginning of his life confined to a tiny crate, Moose is still learning what it means to simply be a dog. He missed out on love, comfort, socialization and all the little things a puppy should have been given.

But despite everything he’s been through, Moose has the most beautiful soul. 🥺

He is constantly reaching out to give you his paw, almost like he’s asking for reassurance. He thrives on love and attention and just wants to be close to someone who makes him feel safe.

He’s about 1 year old and 50 lbs, and he’s come such a long way. He walks nicely on a leash and is slowly learning that people can be kind. Another confident dog in the home would be wonderful to help continue showing him the ropes.

Moose doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for him.

He needs someone to believe in him, love him, and teach him that he never has to be afraid again. ❤️🐾

He truly is just a beautiful soul waiting for his person.
