🌊🐾 Part 2: Summer Water Safety with Dr. Christine Woodford & VIPSvet! 🐾🌊
Summer swims can be so much fun for you and your furry friends—but don’t forget to stay alert for hidden dangers in lakes and ponds! ⚠️
Did you know that stagnant, warm water can harbor blue-green algae (cyanobacteria)? This toxic algae is a serious threat to both pets and people:
❌ Extremely toxic—even small amounts can be deadly
❌ Can cause severe liver damage or seizures
❌ Often fatal—there is NO antidote
If you spot greenish scum or a pea soup appearance on the water, keep your pets (and yourself!) far away. If your pet has been exposed, rinse them immediately and contact your veterinarian right away.
Stay safe this summer! Follow Dr. Christine Woodford & VIPSvet for more water safety tips, plus expert advice on helping your pet thrive with whole food nutrition and holistic health care. 🐕🍎🌱
