We have loved seeing this sweet beautiful girl blossom, and know she would be a great fit for the right home! Please share to help Estelle find her forever home!

We almost can’t believe we’re writing this - because if you asked us 4 months ago, we didn’t know if we’d be here today. But Estelle, our sassy, quirky, playful, beautiful girl may just be ready for a home.

Now, finding her home won’t be easy, but if you know anything about us, you know we’re always up for a challenge.

Estelle’s home must not have kids, dogs or the possibility of either but a friendly kitten or laid back cat would be no problem. Her home must have experience with some sass - and have multiple ways to help their best girl decompress. They must have patience, forgiveness and understanding. Her family needs to be willing to go at Estelle’s pace yet but knowledgeable enough to know when to push her out of her comfort zone.

And most of all, her family must be ready to love her, for exactly who she is. We know we do - and the shear thought of saying goodbye to her one day is already hard on us, but when we promised her a chance at life with a family, we meant it.

Estelle is on fluoxetine daily to help her manage her big feelings and it does wonders for her. The cost of this is about $60/month in addition to her regular cares. Estelle also has a partially collapsed trachea and asthmatic lungs and while they do not cause her any issues currently, her family must be prepared for any potential issues down the line.

Whatever it takes to get every last drop. 😂🐱

Muddy from S.A.I.N.T. Rescue (Saving Animals in Need Today) came in for a recheck after being treated for an inner ear infection and got a clean bill of health! 💙

Naturally, that called for a celebration. Muddy was enjoying his squeeze treat SO much that he decided eating it upside down was the superior technique. 😂

A happy kitty, a successful recheck, and a very enthusiastic snack = Fear Free win! 🐾💙

Cheese & Burger made our day yesterday! 🧀🍔🐾 These adorable 9-week-old siblings came in for their very first visit and absolutely stole our hearts. 🥹💙

We also noticed their sign says “We love plants” 🫠🌱so we figured this was a good time for a friendly reminder: make sure your pets aren’t snacking on your houseplants!

Some common plants that can be toxic to pets include:
🌿 Lilies⚠️ especially dangerous to cats; even pollen or vase water can be life-threatening
🌿 Sago palms
🌿 Tulips & daffodils
🌿 Azaleas & rhododendrons
🌿 Oleander
🌿 Philodendrons
🌿 Pothos
🌿 Dieffenbachia

Plant toxicity varies quite a bit by species and plant, so when in doubt, check before bringing a new plant into a pet-friendly home!

It’s Ginger Cat Appreciation Day! 🧡🐱

Today we’re celebrating some of the cutest orange kitties who have brightened our days at North Star! From tiny orange babies to big orange gentlemen, there’s just something special about a ginger cat. 🥹🧡

We may be a little biased, but we think orange looks good on everybody!

Dr. Loni had to sneak in some puppy snuggles with Obi before his very first groom with North Star Grooming by Andrea ! 💙🐾

And just LOOK at that handsome little gentleman afterward! 😍 Obi did great for his first grooming experience, and Andrea had him looking extra dapper in his new bandana!

Starting grooming young is a great way to help puppies get comfortable with handling, brushing, nail trims, clippers, blow dryers, and all the other things they’ll experience throughout their lives. Andrea is wonderful at listening to each puppy’s cues and going at their own pace, helping make grooming a positive experience from the very beginning! 💙

Dennis is officially all set with his kitten vaccine series! 💙 And because apparently those blue eyes weren’t fancy enough, he finished off his visit with some stylish nail caps. 😻

Nail caps can be a great temporary tool for kittens while they’re learning where those little claws belong! Paired with scratching posts, appropriate surfaces, positive reinforcement, and regular nail trims, they can help protect furniture (and humans 😂) while good scratching habits are developing.

Dennis was an absolute gentleman for the whole thing! 🐾✨

You may remember Winston and his adorable Lamb Chop 🥹🤍 He came back for his next round of puppy vaccines, with Lamb Chop in tow, of course! Winston was just as sweet as we remembered, AND he’s been working hard at home. He’s already mastered sit, down, and center! 🐾👏

Such a smart, sweet boy. We love watching our puppy patients grow up! 💙
