Grooming is a vital part of cat existence. Most often, cats do an excellent job of keeping themselves tidy and well-groomed. Sometimes though, fur care gets away from them, is missed due to disease, or has been put on the back burner due to other pressing concerns. If you notice a decrease in grooming in your own cat, be sure to give them a helping hand with either a brush or a mitt.
If a cat isn't able to groom for long enough, they may need profesional help. Guinevere is a sweet cat who was brought to us from one of our wonderful local rescue groups - Purring Hearts. Her skin was so sensitive from the amount of caught and matted fur that in order to help her, we had to provide some sedatives (hence her catheter). However, once she was relaxed, her spa day commenced and she woke up feeling like an entirely new cat. It helps that we had removed almost an entire cat worth of fur that had been weighing her down.
She is feeling great, keeping her coat well groomed, and is heading to a forever home.
