In case you missed it, the opening ceremony of the Canine Woof Cup took place in Barksville over the last week and was seen by over a billion eyes worldwide… two billion if you count the eyes individually.

And the mural stole the show! A true modern masterpiece. Haven't seen it yet? Check it out in our lobby on your next visit.

We’re thinking of making it a permanent fixture of the daycare once the Woof Cup is over, provided that our friends over at the Louvre haven’t been in touch about it by then.

As the host town, it’s also up to the residents to put the arriving woof-ball superstars through their paces ahead of the first matches and make sure their up to speed skills-wise to wow the world on the grandest stage of them all.

After the long-awaited draw to see which city will host the 2026 Canine Woof Cup, we are ecstatic (albeit a little overwhelmed) to announce that the honour goes to…

BARKSVILLE!

We mentioned we put our name in for consideration but we never expected to actually get chosen.

It’s now up to us to organize an exceptional opening ceremony, perform the national anthem before the first match, and the dogs have already begun to paint a mural today!

We now need all the help we can get to pull this off.

ARE YOU HAVING A WOOF CUP SUMMER?

Although somewhat overshadowed by the far more popular World Cup, the Canine Woof Cup is undoubtedly the biggest sporting event of the dog year.

Maybe it would be better known if it didn’t directly coincide with FIFA’s copycat tournament every year. But hey, tradition is tradition.

And it just wouldn’t feel right not having a Woof Cup once every 28 dog years.

It’s just a few days until the host city is announced…

Will it be New York? Will it be London? Paris?

The canine world is on the edge of its seat to find out.

And yes, Barksville did throw its name in the hat but only for the free bag of treats.

As the celebrations unfolded (I mean, we did find Puplantis after all…) something became clear...

The point of this journey wasn’t to rebuild the ruined city, it wasn’t even really about rediscovering it.

It was all about reigniting the spirit of Puplantis in the way our daycare dogs carried themselves and interacted with one another.

Puplantis has taught us that true enlightenment isn’t something you simply find, rather something that you practise and pursue every day.

If you missed out on this enlightenment… sucks to be you.

But hey, there’s always next month. And trust us, this one’s a corker!
