Pups Have Taken the Pledge. No Turning Back Now!

Today was a big day at Camp Barkalot.
The bandanas are on. The houses are chosen.
And every single pup just stood tall and made their promise to the pack.
The Canine Camper Code isn’t just words — it’s the heartbeat of the forest.
Loyalty. Bravery. Teamwork. Snacks. (Okay, we might’ve added that last one.)

With the pledge complete, our scouts are officially in.
No more tourists. No more trainees.
Just real Barkalot dogs, ready for whatever this wild summer throws at them.

Week 1🎖️ The Happy Camper Badge – for completing their house sorting.

Week 2🩹 The Scout Safety Badge – for mastering wilderness first aid and emergency drills

Week 3🎨 The Camp Artist Badge – for problem-solving, painting, and creative enrichment

Week 4🏅 The Barklympian Badge – for teamwork, obstacle courses, and physical challenges

This week, our dogs are entering the world of 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘁 — where scout houses, forest challenges, and real enrichment collide in a way that’s never been done before.
They’re not just playing games.
They’re joining a story.
They’re earning badges for survival, teamwork, and creativity.
And if your dog isn’t part of it… they’re missing something big.

Get ready, pup parents—our 8-week summer adventure is about to begin!

July kicks off Scout Training Month at Camp Barkalot, where your brave pups will earn their first four badges and prepare for real wilderness fun in August! This is the foundation of their summer journey—sorting into teams, learning knot tying, first aid, camp survival and the importance of teamwork.

📅 Starts July 1st!
To make sure your pup doesn't miss out on any badges, be sure to sign up for at least one day per week of daycare.

🎆 Holiday Reminder:
Due to the busy July 4th week and limited availability, your pup will have 12 days instead of 7 to earn their first badge—plan ahead to snag a spot!

Long before the tents were pitched… before the pawprints lined the trail… before the houses were chosen…

There was only the forest.

Quiet. Still. Watching.

And then, one by one, they began to arrive.

Dogs with something to prove.

Dogs with something to discover.

Dogs who didn’t yet know they were about to become scouts.

Camp Barkalot doesn’t begin with a loud fanfare.

It begins with a whisper. A legend passed down through generations.

Of four houses, one code, and a summer that could change everything.

Next week, the Sorting Ceremony begins.

The Canine Camper Code will be spoken aloud for the first time in years.

And somewhere out there, the forest is listening.

Are they ready?

We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Renton Animal Control! 🐶💙 As part of this collaboration, we’ll be housing a few overflow adoptable dogs to help give them a safe place to stay while they search for their forever families.

You might notice Animal Control vehicles coming and going—no need to be alarmed! We’re working together as friends and community partners to give these pups the best chance at a happy life.

If you’ve got room in your heart and home for a sweet rescue dog, keep an eye out—more information coming soon on how you can meet and adopt one of these adorable guests! 🏡🐕

The New Recruits Have Started Training! 🎪

Pug T. Barnum’s search for new circus stars is underway, and the first recruits are already putting on a show! 🐾 Some are daring acrobats, soaring over jumps and weaving through obstacles. Others are natural-born clowns, making everyone laugh with their goofy antics.

And a few… well, let’s just say they’re still discovering their inner circus performer! 😉✨ But one thing’s for sure: every single pup is a star in the making!
