Yesterday, Copper, my loving Dachshund died. She welcomed all dogs and people into her world with love. Her giant personality has left a gaping hole in my world. I miss her so much. I love you Copper ❤️ 😭

Today we are celebrating Copper’s 14th birthday!I selected her at 4 weeks old and then brought her home at just 8 weeks....

Today we are celebrating Copper’s 14th birthday!

I selected her at 4 weeks old and then brought her home at just 8 weeks. She’s been a bundle of energy and love ever since.

In her 14 years she has:

- Hiked over 100 miles in all seasons
- Climbed multiple mountains
- Visited 15 different American States
- Flown in an airplane several times from Seattle to Chicago RT
- Caught a squirrel, chick, frogs, grasshoppers, crickets, moths, crabs and many other small creatures
- Rode on a forklift and skid loader
- Been camping and swimming
- Went on a ferry, a canoe, a kayak, paddle board and inner tube
- Given kisses to hundreds of people, from infants to senior citizens
- Destroyed hundreds of toys, as well as one sofa, a wood table, shoes and anything else that seemed fun to shred
- Touched the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans
- Stayed in several hotels
- Completed a charity 5k
- Visited State and National Parks
- Visited pumpkin patches, farmers’ markets, and festivals, breweries, wineries, happy hours

Her favorite things currently are:
- Food - She is always hungry and checking pockets and purses for treats. Her favorite foods are chicken, beef, lamb, broccoli and green beans.
- Toys - Squeaky plush toys and treat puzzles. Lamb Chops have been a lifelong favorite.
- People - She loves attention from everyone. She has so much love to share ❤️

As of January 1st, Copper’s Resort has closed. Originally the plan was to close and move in August 2025, but factors outside our control delayed this till January 1st, 2026. The plus side was that we got to spend six extra months with all our favorite clients.

We want to thank everyone who trusted us (Crystal, Copper & Cinnamon) to care for your dogs. We truly love each and every dog. We will miss everyone.

Now that we are starting our next chapter of life, we will post updates here showing what Copper and Cinnamon are up to. We’d love to see updates from you too. Feel free to text Crystal at (206) 355-3793 or add her on Facebook Irene.

If you need care for your pups, Quinten and Arthur the Dachshund of Tiny Tails Club in Renton will continue to provide boarding and daycare services for dogs under 20 lbs. They can be reached at (509) 961-1942.

Happy holidays from all the silly pups here at Copper’s Resort. This year we celebrated Christmas with over 200 new toys. By the evening yesterday, everyone was exhausted and so happy from a day filled of good food and fun.
