Meet King, the ruler of the Round Room! 🏰

King is a 4 year old male Pit Bull mix who came to us as a transfer from another rescue group.

Don’t let that faded face fool you, he isn’t as old as he looks! He is a middle aged man who is an absolute sweetie! He LOVES to give hugs and kisses and just love on anyone who is within his reach. If you are looking for a relatively calm, couch potato buddy, no need to look further! He will cuddle up with you and nap while you read or watch a show.

He does not do well with cats, so he would need a home with no feline influence. King loves meeting people, but he can be head-shy with dogs. He can be selective with male dogs, but is fine with most any female dogs. If there is a dog in the home, a dog intro is required.

Intake: 3/26/26

Now that's what I call a hoedown! 🤠👢🔥

We’re giving a grand THANK YOU for the success of our 2nd Annual Fire-Pitties & Flannels! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, we were able to bring our community together for an evening full of country charm, wagging tails, and raise just over $11,000! That's a huge increase from last year!

Fire-Pitties & Flannels was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community rallies together for a good cause, and everyone involved played an important role in making a difference for our animals.

From all of us at the Butler County Humane Society, thank you for being part of our pack and believing in our mission. We’re mighty grateful to have you in our corner!

Thank you to Family Tradition Restaurant & for Andy & Brian (DrewHalter Music) for making the night unforgettable!

And a special thank you to all of our 2026 sponsors:

Meet Flannel, the last of "The Fabric Litter" 👕

Flannel is a 3 month old male, domestic shorthair who came to us as a stray.

These little guys were all too young to thrive on their own, so with the help of one of our amazing volunteer foster homes, we have tried our best to raise them up right for you! Flannel is the most playful little guy who wants to take up all of your time. The cuteness aggression is real!! Take Flannel home and see just how cozy he can be!

Intake Date: 8/27/26

Meet Greta, who'll make you "fall" in love with her! 🍂🤎

Greta is a 2 year old female Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray.

She was found running amok with another dog, Elise, and both were extremely malnourished and thin when brought into our care. This nervous girl had no idea how to walk on a leash and showed a very short attention span. Greta is a sweet and anxious girl who needs someone to love her enough to let her figure out how to be a dog. We'll give you a little secret - a tiny spray of canned cheese can get her to focus on learning! It's her favorite!

Greta would do best in a feline-free home. If there is a dog in the home, a dog intro is required.

Intake: 7/13/26
