Fashion has long shaped what society admires, including what animals are worth.

4NML (“for animal”) is an animal-free luxury fashion house built on the belief that animals should become beneficiaries of fashion, not simply be removed from it.

In Can Animal Welfare and Luxury Coexist?, Newsweek writer James Roberts examines 4NML’s approach to animal welfare, sustainable fashion and purpose-driven luxury.

The made-to-order PRIMALIS collection is produced in Romania using innovative animal-free materials, including AppleSkin™, Candiani® raw denim and organic cotton. At least half of 4NML’s profits are allocated to sponsorship support for animal charities.

Many vegan fashion brands have removed animals from the equation, which is important. 4NML asks whether animals can become beneficiaries instead.

For us, luxury is not only about craftsmanship, scarcity or possession. It is also about what wealth has the power to protect.

Traditional luxury asks what an object says about the person who owns it. 4NML asks what the object does beyond the person who owns it.
