Miguel Undabarrena is a professional rider with an impressive portfolio of both competitive dressage and working equitation accomplishments. Miguel has earned his bronze, silver and gold medals on horses he trained himself from start to Grand Prix Level. He was the 2018 Arizona Dressage FEI Grand Prix Reserve Rider of the Year and excels at bringing his skills and experience to riders and horses.

In the working equitation arena, Miguel was the:

2016 Haras Cup Level 6 Champion

2017 Haras Cup Reserve Champion Level 4 and Confederation Year End National Champion Level 4 and Year End Champion Arizona Working Equitation Club.

2018 2nd place at the Brazil International Working Equitation Challenge, riding for the US Team.

2022 1st US Rider participating in the World Championship of Working Equitation in Les Herbiers, France

2024 USAWE Platinum Lifetime Achievement Medal Masters Level

In addition, Miguel earned the 2019 El Campeon Farms Summer Invitational Level 5 Champion and Level 4 Reserve Champion, 2019 Conferderation of Working Equitation National Champion Level 4 title and the 2019 WE United National Champion International Rider Level Intermediate B.

Miguels career as a rider started very early, as his father was in charge of a stud farm with more than 3,000 horses. In this time he obtained profound knowledge about handling, breeding and complete care of horses. The work there involved introducing foals to be handled, starting young horses, training and presenting stallions up to Alta Escuela and participating in numerous presentations incorporating special effects. Additionally, he gave classes to young children, starting already at the age of just 2 years.

His passion for dressage and competitions led him to the United States where he began an impressive showing career. Miguel participated in numerous dressage, breeding and working equitation shows, winning Champion titles year after year.

Miguel has trained horses of different breeds such as PREs, Lusitanos, German Warmbloods, Friesians, Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses and many more. His specialties are training "difficult" horses, starting young horses, groundwork and classical dressage training up to Grand Prix and Alta Escuela. Additionally, Miguel has a lot of experience in the classical Doma Vaquera and has performed numerous shows with the Garrocha.

The experience and knowledge Miguel has acquired in the stud farm he used to work for, has led him to build up his own successful breeding program of pure bred Lusitanos and Andalusians. His horses have already won several shows in dressage and working equitation, being taught by Miguel from the day they were born.

Miguel is a well-rounded horseman, who grew up riding stallions for an Andalusian and Lusitano breeding farm in addition to his competitive riding career. Whether your goals are in competitive dressage, working equitation or both, Miguel is a talented trainer with international experience.

We are so thrilled to have Kristi Wysocki coming to RRR May 3rd to teach. It is always such a privilege having her out and learning from her. Limit of 8 spots available and haul ins are welcome.

Kristi Wysocki’s deepest passion is HORSES. She loves sharing her knowledge with others, no matter their experience. Her dedicated understanding of dressage is unparalleled.

Kristi Wysocki is a Federation Equestre Internationale FEI 4* Dressage and FEI 5* Para Dressage Judge. She is also a U.S. Equestrian Dressage Sport Horse judge. She has judged CDIs and CPEDs in the U.S., Europe, Russia, Australia, Canada, Mexico, South and Central America. She judged the 2018 World Equestrian Games Para Dressage and the European Para Dressage Championships in 2017. She has judged the USDF National Dressage Championships and many USDF Regional Championships on numerous occassions. On the Dressage Sport Horse side, Kristi has judged Dressage at Devon on many occasions along with many other USDF Breeder Series Finals around the country.

As a rider Kristi has successfully trained and ridden many horses from starting youngsters to Grand Prix Dressage. She has competed several horses to the FEI levels, winning many regional and local championships through Grand Prix. She has also successfully competed in the CDI arena with multiple horses. She has earned her bronze, silver, gold medals and gold freestyle bar from the USDF. Kristi’s students range from beginners to FEI, she loves teaching both. Several students have also competed successfully through the Grand Prix Level, some in the CDI arena, and many have also earned their USDF bronze, silver and gold medals.

RRR had a wonderful day brushing off the dust and beginning prep for the coming show season!

RRR’s Armas Perol was incredible for his first time at a large venue in a busy warmup. We are so thrilled with his confidence, athleticism, and unbeatable work ethic and are looking forward to an exciting show season with this wonderful horse. The best is yet to come.

Ava Cox piloted Jennifer Cook’s Samson and made his US show debut and cruised through his first level tests, proving he has so much more to give. A professional through and through. We look forward to watching this pair develop throughout the season!

The day was finished with Alexa Paprosky’s Tintero who put out two beautiful and consistent tests, kicking his show season and dressage career off on a wonderful note.

Redmond Ridge Ranch is excited to be hosting several clinics this spring. First of which is with Ocala, FL based Tina Waters of Ashwood Meadow Sport Horses.

Tina’s passion for horses began early on in life and led her to positions at Chestnut Ridge Stables, Bascule Farm, and a coveted role as assistant trainer with 4* Eventer and Grand Prix rider Melissa Beardsley at Blackwood Farm, which led to Tina making the PNW her home for 16 years. In 2007 Tina and her business partners procured and founded Emerald Glen Stables and competed extensively at all levels for nearly 10 years. Tina competed through FEI 3* level and was long listed for the 2011 Pan American Games.

After 25 years in the equestrian industry competing, training, and teaching from YEH to FEI levels of eventing, Tina now spends her time sourcing and producing quality young sport horses and teaching a select number of students who wish to further their education in riding and training.

2019 imported ANCEE registered/revised 16.3 hand grey PRE gelding. Armas Perol is a once in a lifetime horse. He is incredibly athletic, highly intelligent, and comes with the very best character you could ask for. He is a joy and a gentleman in all regards, easy to handle, loves to be loved on, and is easily a barn favorite.

We consider Perol to be a very safe horse, with no vices, but he does have a big engine and is a sensitive ride. He has been ridden by, and can tolerate, a wide variety of riders but he would prefer an intermediate AA or professional. Someone who is tactful and patient can take this horse in any direction and to any level. He would be a wonderful addition to any competitive program. Perol is schooling 2nd/3rd level movements, has green/clean lead change, and has many off property experiences including trails, days at the river, hacking around the neighborhood, and started his show career last fall. He is a complete blast on the trails and can hack out alone or with others.

This week, we want to shine the spotlight on Kelsey Padilla and her 3yr old Kira. Kelsey has been such a dedicated presence here at the barn and a pleasure to get to know. Even though Kelsey and Kira’s partnership is new, we can already see what a great team you guys are! We are so excited to watch Kelsey and Kira’s progress as we head into the new year!

Jennifer Cook has been such a valuable part of our team here at Redmond Ridge Ranch! Jenifer purchased Oskar from RRR early 2023 and it has been a pleasure watching them advance over the last two years. Jenn also has lease horse Captain she has been riding the past few months who has stolen all of our hearts! Jenn is excited to have a full season of showing next year and we can’t wait to follow along with all her progress!
