Heather Ridge Farm and The Bunk House are about teaching and educating horse and rider in a fair manner. We are a casual and fun environment with serious thoughts and applications of the training pyramid for horse and rider. Our goal is to educate and strengthen the mind and body of horse and rider. We follow the timeless principles and correct aids.

To have the ability to share a love among equestrians freely through boarding, clinic, shows, teaching, learning, owning, and so much more would not be possible without the sacrifice of another.

God bless those who gave us these sacred freedoms.

Prayers to the families with personal memories of lost loved ones.

This day is in honor of you!

We are forever grateful for your sacrifice and thank you for the honor you gave our country. 🇺🇸

Always honor your horse.

💻 Your horse doesn’t know how much time you had to take off work for a show.
📅 Your horse doesn’t know that you had a long day of meetings at work before your evening lesson.
✏️ Your horse doesn’t know that you stayed up all night helping your kid finish a school project.
💸 Your horse doesn’t know how hard you’ve worked to afford all of this

All your horse knows is… they did their best. For you.

Maybe the ride wasn’t exactly what you were hoping for… You were nervous, you were distracted, you were tired.

IT’S OKAY.

What DOES matter is that your horse tried his best, and you were there to support him and thank him for it.
And if you’re looking for a place to continue learning—so those moments become a little clearer and a little easier to navigate—we’ve created Team Tate Academy as an ongoing resource for riders at every level.

Such an honor to support North Carolina Dressage & Combined Training Association in the hospitality portion of the L Program! Thank you for being a part of furthering the education of our future judges.

NCDCTA is proud to be sponsored by Heather Ridge Farm through our Open Rein Sponsorship, with their support designated specifically for the L Program. Their commitment as our event‑specific sponsor played an essential role in making all sessions of the L Program possible.

Known affectionately by their community as the “Dynamic Duo,” mother–daughter team Kris Hamilton and Heather Hamilton Boyer bring heart, passion, and deep dedication to their work as both Traditional and Western dressage judges. Their influence extends far beyond the judge’s box. At Heather Ridge Farm, they pour that same care into the horses boarded on their property and into creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere through their Picnics and Ponies Series.

Their mission is to provide a relaxing, focused environment where horse and rider can truly partner and develop their horsemanship goals. Supported by their husbands, Jim Hamilton and Jason Boyer, this family works tirelessly to make the farm a place that builds confidence for both horses and riders. Above all, they want every person who comes across their path to know that they are being rooted for.

Please keep an eye on their website, Facebook, and personal pages for updates on everything happening at the farm. And if you’re looking for a wonderful place to show, be sure to check out their Picnics and Ponies Series, with remaining 2026 dates on: June 17, July 15, August 12, September 16, October 24, and November 25.
