Dr. Kay is a small animal and exotic veterinarian with a strong interest in surgery and a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to a wide range of species. She especially enjoys the challenge and diversity that comes with treating nontraditional pets, and takes pride in offering thoughtful, individualized care—whether the patient has feathers, scales, or fur. If it fits through the clinic door, she is happy to see it.
Dr. Kay completed her undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, and finished her clinical year at the University of Tennessee.
Her background includes hands-on experience with a wide variety of exotic species, both in the U.S. and internationally. She worked at an exotic animal sanctuary in Ecuador, participated in externships at multiple accredited zoos across the United States, and was a member of the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network during her time at Ross University. These experiences not only strengthened her clinical skills, but also fostered adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for wildlife and conservation medicine.
Outside of veterinary practice, Dr. Kay is passionate about discovering new gluten-free restaurants and snacks and always appreciates the opportunity to try something new. She also enjoys free diving and scuba diving when she can or spending any time outdoors.
Dr. Kay is continually looking to grow both personally and professionally, and values building meaningful connections with clients while delivering exceptional veterinary care!
