A heartfelt thank you to Darla with Cosmo’s Mobile Grooming for generously donating her grooming services and coming by to help one of our scared little guys, Murphy.

Murphy came to us as a stray, and after his stray hold was up, and with no owner coming forward, he officially became a PAWS pup. He arrived in rough shape—matted, uncomfortable, and clearly in pain. We were able to remove some burrs that were dug into his fur and mats, but he was scared and somewhat spicy, and we knew something more was going on. Taking him out for a grooming appointment would have been far too stressful—then, almost like fate, Darla showed up and offered her services. 💙

With her patience and gentle touch, Murphy received the medical groom he so desperately needed, and we finally discovered the cause of his pain—an infected a**l gland, which explained why he was walking funny and so defensive when touched. Thanks to Darla’s care and follow-up treatment from our vet (Dr. Niki) , Murphy is now healing and starting to feel like himself again. 🐶✨

He’s still a little shy—he doesn’t love having his harness removed, but we think it’s just his way of saying he doesn’t want is to leave. With time, love, and consistency, we know he’ll blossom. He even showed staff member Abby his silly playful side.

Murphy still needs to heal and decompress, but soon this resilient boy will be ready to find the forever home he deserves. 🏡❤️

Thank you again, Darla, for being such an important part of Murphy’s journey to health and happiness.

This gorgeous pit bull is sweet, silly, and full of zoomies! Greyson loves to play and can almost always be found carrying a toy in his mouth. With his goofy, fun-loving personality, he’s guaranteed to make you smile every single day.

Greyson is energetic and strong, so he’ll need someone who can keep up with his playful spirit. He’ll do best as the only pet in the home, with kids 13+, and a secure yard (or approved alternative).

He’s ready for a forever family who will love him as much as he loves his toys. 🧸💙

🐾💙 October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and Pit Bull Awareness Month! 💙🐾

Pit bulls are goofy, wiggly, loyal, and full of love—they deserve to be celebrated for the amazing companions they truly are.

✨ Meet Chop Chop ✨
This big-hearted boy came from the city shelter and has been thriving in foster care. He loves sunbathing, short walks, and splashing in the pool!

Chop Chop needs to be the only pet, in a quiet home with a secure yard, and would do best with older kids (16+). He has arthritis, but with supplements and care, he’s living life to the fullest.

What he needs most? A strong hand on the leash and a heart big enough to love him forever. 💕

At PAWS for Life, we see their true nature every day: smart, resilient, endlessly affectionate, and always ready to make you laugh with their antics. Let’s celebrate them for what they truly are—family members, best friends, and lovable goofballs who deserve a chance to shine. 💕

✨ Meet Baxter – Your Next Best Friend! ✨
Baxter is a loving and energetic 2-year-old Rottweiler/Pit mix with a heart as big as his smile. He was rescued just in time by our friends at Highway 50 Freedom Ride, and we’re so grateful he’s safe with us—because he’s truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet!

🐶 Baxter loves going on pack walks with pals Carol and Amber, and he walks like a dream on leash.
🐾 He enjoys playing with his buddy Major at the shelter, but he also knows how to chill when it’s time to relax.
💙 While he can be a little nervous around men at first, he quickly warms up and shows his goofy, affectionate side.

Baxter will need an approved secure fence to keep him safe during playtime, and he’s ready to find the forever family who will give him the love and stability he deserves.

💙🐾 October is Pit Bull Awareness Month! 🐾💙

This month, we’re celebrating everything we love about pit bulls—their goofy zoomies, their wiggly butts, their loyal hearts, and their endless capacity for love. These dogs are so often misunderstood, but here at PAWS for Life, we know they’re some of the silliest, sweetest companions you could ever meet.

And what better way to honor this month than by highlighting one of our very own pitties… Lady Tessa. ✨

At 10 years old, Tessa has been through more than any dog should. She’s known love—and heartbreak. Returned to us twice through no fault of her own, she came back confused and grieving, but her gentle spirit never wavered.

Fostering is also an option where we would take care of all food, supplies and medical cost. You just give her the love and safe place to call home. 

🏡 She needs to be the only pet in a calm, quiet home.
🐶 She may have some arthritis, but don’t let that fool you—she’s still strong, determined, and full of life.

What Tessa wants most is simple: a comfy couch, a calm home, and a best friend to spend the rest of her days with. She thought she had that once, and she was deeply loved. We promised her we’d help her find it again. 💕
