We accidentally missed Friday's Dog of the Day...

So Ink gets the spotlight TODAY!

Meet Ink, a two-year-old Chihuahua who's been joining us for Day School at Ruff Pup.

And this little guy is FUN. πŸ˜‚

Ink is social, friendly, sweet and has quickly become a dog our staff genuinely loves having around.

During Day School, we've been working with him on:

🐾 Confidence building
🐾 General obedience
🐾 Settling
🐾 Leash skills
🐾 Social experiences
🐾 Learning to work around distractions

And he's making great progress!

One of the things we love about Ink is that he's a great example of what Day School can be.

Your dog doesn't have to have a massive behavioral problem to benefit from training.

We're continuing to take the obedience cues our dogs already know and make them more useful by adding the three D's:

🐾❀️ HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY!

Around here, pretty much EVERY day is Dog Day…

But apparently today it's official. πŸ˜‚

So today we want to celebrate the dogs.

The puppies learning how to navigate this crazy world.

The teenage dogs testing every boundary their owners thought they had established.

The reactive dogs learning that the world isn't quite as scary or frustrating as it sometimes feels.

The shelter dogs waiting for someone to see them.

The Daycare dogs who come through the doors ready to see their friends.

The training dogs working hard to become better versions of themselves.

The old dogs who have spent a lifetime beside us.

And every dog somewhere in between. ❀️

They're the reason Ruff Pup exists.

They've built friendships.

Created a community.

Taught us patience.

Made us laugh.

Occasionally made us question our career choices. πŸ˜‚

And they've given us the opportunity to spend every day doing something we genuinely love.

Today's dog goes WAY back.

Meet Nola, an almost three-year-old Goldendoodle who has technically been part of Ruff Pup longer than Ruff Pup has been a company. ❀️

Nola originally started with in-home puppy training.

As Ruff Pup grew, Nola grew right along with us.

Today she comes to Day School twice a week and has been doing so for almost a year.

And Nola knows exactly what she likes.

When it comes to the other dogs?

She's perfectly happy keeping to herself. πŸ˜‚

But when the trainers start setting up an activity?

Nola wants IN.

She loves training, participating in activities and working with our team.

She's sweet, fun to work with, and has some pretty awesome owners who've continued investing in her training throughout her life.

Nola's story is special to me because she represents something we're trying to build with every Ruff Pup client.

A long-term relationship.

Puppy training doesn't have to be goodbye.

Your dog's needs change.

Your goals change.

And we're still here.

Almost three years later, Nola is still learning, still participating and still part of Ruff Pup.

We wouldn't have it any other way. ❀️
