There are training methods that rely on the notion that "domestic dogs are like wolves".

This would be the same as teaching or treating humans like apes.

Well... yes things are similar but not really. Maybe in a scientific way but not when it comes to the behaviors and capabilities of the two.

I'm so excited to meet you and your pup!
These are my current puppy and dog training and grooming rates (that are subject to change).

-1 hour home visit training: $60 (done in your home)
(Puppy) Includes me getting to know your dog and their needs, teaching you how to potty train, crate train, leash introduction, and some of the common commands as well as exposure to people, dogs, and situations.
(3 months or older) leash exercises, scent activities, and how to teach boundaries and expectations.
-1 hour follow up visits $50
Includes working on any roadblocks and more in depth obedience training.
-$1 per mile after the first 10 miles of travel.

In the first visit, I would like to evaluate your relationship with your dog, observe how your dog reacts to me, and learn the rules of your home so I know how to best set you and your dog up for success.

Please know, if you as the dog's owner do not provide consistent physical and mental stimulation, your dog will revert back to previous habits.
I will discuss with you in my evaluation why certain behaviors are happening and give you tips on what you can change to see a difference in behavior.
I don't use treats unless it is a particularly difficult task or if they are working on a trick.
Please ask me anything about dogs and my methods!

-Grooming services: $75 (done in your home)
3-4 hours includes a shampoo bath, towel dry, blowdry, hair cut, ear cleaning and plucking, and nail trim.
-If more time is needed during a full grooming session due to heavy matting, 2 more hours will be another $50 to complete the job.
By request: a**l gland expression.
$1 per mile after the first 10 miles of travel.

Please provide a bathtub in a bathroom with a closable door and a leash or tether.

1 hour home visit training: $50
8-12 week old board and train: $60/day 2 week min
Includes potty training, crate training, leash introduction, and some of the common commands as well as exposure to people, dogs, and situations.
12 weeks and older board and train: $75/day 2 week min
Includes sprucing up on basics listed above as well as leash training, more in depth basic obedience and anything else you are planning to expect from pup.
$1 per mile after the first 10 miles of travel

I do one $50 visit before board and train and before future home visits to evaluate your relationship with your dog, observe how your dog reacts to me, and learn the rules of your home so I know how to best set you and your dog up for success.

Please know, during board and train your dog will learn from the very beginning our house rules, expectations, and boundaries. They will learn to obey us. If you as the dog's owner do not have set, consistent boundaries and expectations, your dog will not listen and will revert back to previous habits.
I will discuss with you in my evaluation why certain behaviors are happening and how to change your relationship to see a different outcome.
I don't use treats unless it is a particularly difficult task or if they are working on a trick.
Please ask me anything about anything!

Top 3 Reasons I don't train with treats:

(I am not saying training with treats is wrong or ineffective. I have just found better success training without them with my personality. I may go back to treats at some point but for now I am learning to work without them)

1: A puppy's first teacher is their mom and she does not reward or reenforce with food when pup does something right. I want to continue teaching with what the dog already understands with energy and body language.
2: The process of developing a strong bond and relationship of trust appeals to me more than the idea of bribery.
3: Spending time advancing with the dog is more rewarding than spending that energy weening them off of food rewards.

I want to learn how to think more with a dog brain (boundaries, communication, and energy) before relying on human brain (bribery and emotion) when I am training.
