As we close out this 2026 National Volunteer Week, we would like to send our sincere appreciation and thanks to all of our Dutchess County MRC & DCART Volunteers.

The DCMRC has been in existence since 2002, which is 24 years of service to the residents of Dutchess County! Some of our volunteers have been with us since our inception, while others have recently joined our organization. Either way, all of our volunteers our instrumental in our ability to serve our communities!

Happy National Volunteer Week & Happy World Veterinary Day to Dr. McNamara our Pet First Aid Extraordinaire!

Dr. McNamara has taught almost 1100 people Pet First Aid with our DCART sponsored classes! If you haven't made one of his classes, you are encouraged to do so! Each time you learn something new! THANK YOU Dr. McNamara for all the hours you've volunteered with DCART! We are so proud to have you as a volunteer in our organization!

THANK YOU to our DCART Volunteers who have supported many community events this past year.

Tomorrow our volunteers will be on hand at the John Jay High School FFA 4th Annual Spring Fest from 10am to 3pm! Stop by and support some local agricultural vendors, see our DCART volunteers to learn how to do pet CPR, and support these local youth who are interested in being our next generation of agriculturists!

Happy National Volunteer Day to our selfless DCART volunteers! 🐶🐈

This post highlights our DCART volunteers with our friends from the American Red Cross Eastern New York, New York State Ag & Markets, and Ulster County Animal Response Team (UCART) at our second Regional Shelter Drill held in Hyde Park this fall. Volunteers came together to stand up a shelter for people and their pets, along with collaborating on how they would operate the shelter together. DCART Volunteers donated 106 hours into two regional drills in 2025!
