💔 Adoption Fail – Winnie Needs Us Again 💔
Sometimes love just isn’t enough… and that’s one of the hardest truths in rescue.
Winnie was adopted back in August, and we truly believed she had found her forever. Sadly, she is being returned to Big Dogs Don’t Cry through no fault of her own. Her adopters shared that Winnie struggles with anxiety when left alone while they’re at work, and they’re gone too many hours a day to give her the support she needs. She has not been kenneled.
This is heartbreaking — for us, but most of all for Winnie. Being returned after thinking you’re home forever is confusing and painful for a dog. 💔
Here’s the important part: Winnie is a GREAT dog.
She simply needs the right setup and the right people.
🐾 What Winnie Needs
A foster or adopter ASAP
Someone willing to crate her when away from home, which helps her feel safe and secure
A home that understands that anxiety isn’t bad behavior — it’s fear, and it can be managed with structure and love
🐶 Who Winnie Is
5 years old
Spayed & fully vetted
A gentle, loving Mastiff
Amazing with dogs, kids, and people
Loves to play and snuggle
Truly just wants to be near her people 🥹
Now we need to make sure Winnie doesn’t pay the price for it.
🙏 Please share. Please foster. Please adopt.
Let’s show Winnie that her story doesn’t end with another goodbye — but with the right forever.
