Whether it’s the puppy trim, continental, or English saddle, all AKC poodle trims are done completely by hand and based off the dogs structure which means 2 very important things to always remember. #1 is that no two haircuts will look the same. My dogs haircut will look different than yours because he’s built differently than yours. #2 the haircut requires complete cooperation from the dog as they often have to spend hours getting their hair done. This shows another way that we are a team not only in the AKC ring but also at home. That is why the bond is so important and why handlers stress the importance of the dog coming before the sport. This is my almost 10 month old bred by puppy, Dutch who has been groomed regularly since he was 3 weeks old by me, you can see he is comfortable on the table and knows exactly what to expect from his time up here. I am so proud of him and although his haircut isn’t correct yet (working on it), I am so proud to be his breeder
