🐶 Meet Henry Reuben Sandwich! 💜
This sweet boy has been through more than any dog should. He arrived at The Rise Rescue Alliance in rough shape, and his story is one you won't forget. Be sure to check out RISE's post to read his story.
The Rise Rescue Alliance says that Henry has a serious, untreated hip injury—his hip isn't even in the socket anymore. He'll need surgery before he's ready to find the loving family he deserves.
If you'd like to be part of Henry's second chance, RISE (and PFOA!) would be honored to have you in his corner. Every donation, big or small, will help give this sweet pup the healthy, pain-free future he deserves. 🐾

This is Henry.
Or, if you're feeling formal...
Henry Reuben Sandwich.
(We'll explain the name another day.)
And he has the world's greatest ears. (I mean, just look at them)
Today was a big day for Henry.
When Henry came to us, he weighed under 40 pounds. He should easily weigh closer to 65.
He wasn't just underweight.
He was starving.
He had been abandoned, and by the time he made it to RISE, he was so weak he struggled to stand. His back end barely worked, and we honestly didn't know if we were looking at starvation alone or something much more serious.
So we took it one meal at a time.
As much as Henry believed he deserved unlimited access to the food bin, dogs in this condition have to be refed carefully. Too much food too fast can be just as dangerous.
Slowly, he got stronger.
He started to run and play.
And he made it very clear that he intends to spend the rest of his life making up for every meal he missed.
Today, Henry got to meet his new friends at Blue Mountain Animal Clinic, where they were able to shed a little more light on his condition.
Henry has a pretty major injury that had never been treated.
His hip isn't even in the socket anymore.
He's going to need hip surgery before he's ready for a family of his own.
Henry, however, has other priorities.
He's busy making friends with everyone he meets, convincing us he's somehow starving again, and checking whether anyone accidentally left the food bin unsecured. Counter surfing is his super power and honestly, we don't blame him.
He doesn't know what the x-rays showed.
He doesn't know surgery is coming.
He just knows that life is pretty great now.
And we're going to do everything we can to keep it that way.
If you'd like to be part of Henry's second chance, we'd be honored to have you in his corner. Donations toward his surgery and recovery will help give this sweet puppy the healthy, pain-free future he should have had from the very beginning. ❤️
