🌸🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾🌸

Bella is a sweet and shy 4-year-old girl who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the next chapter of her life with a loving family. ❤️

Bella and her siblings came to the shelter in heartbreaking condition, having clearly been through more than any dog should have to endure. Thanks to the dedication of shelter staff and lots of care, patience, and love, Bella has made an incredible transformation and is now healthy, safe, and ready for a fresh start. ✨

While Bella can be a little timid when meeting new people, beneath that shy exterior is a gentle, loving soul just waiting to blossom. 🌷 She is learning that the world can be a kind place and that people can be trusted. With a patient family willing to let her move at her own pace, Bella's confidence will continue to grow every day.

Bella is looking for a home where she can feel secure, loved, and cherished for the rest of her life. Watching her come out of her shell and discover what it means to be a beloved family member will be one of the most rewarding experiences for her future adopter. 🏡💕

After everything she's overcome, Bella deserves a happy ending. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the forever home she's been waiting for? 🐶❤️

Sammy: Shy at First, Purr-fect Forever 😺💛
Meet Sammy — 5 months old and a master of the slow burn.
Sammy is a shy and sweet fella, who might take a few minutes to get used to new faces. He won’t run up and demand pets on day one. He’ll watch. He’ll assess. He’ll decide if your vibe is “safe human” or “suspicious human.” Hint: bring treats and a soft voice and you’ll be promoted fast. Once you pass the Sammy Background Check, the real cat comes out.
Sammy loves to pounce, purr and play and will seek you out for some one on one cuddles. Wand toys? He’s a ninja. Crinkle balls? Consider them defeated. Laser dot? He’ll parkour off your bookshelf to catch it. Then, when he’s tired of being a tiny athlete, he’ll climb into your lap and turn into a purring, biscuit-making, snuggle expert. He’s not aloof. He’s just selective. And when he chooses you? You’ll feel like you won the lottery.
Sammy is hoping to find a loving home where they allow him some time to get used to new surroundings. New house = new sounds, new smells, new rules. He needs a family who doesn’t expect instant best-friend energy. Give him a week to hide under the bed. Give him a month to own the place. Give him patience, and he’ll give you his whole heart. Quiet homes are his style — he’s not a fan of chaos, but he’s a huge fan of you.
He’s 5 months: litterbox trained and past the bitey kitten phase. Still playful, but with manners. Still young, but with sense. He’s the perfect mix of kitten fun and grown-cat cuddles.

Sammy’s Details:
Age: 5 months old
Vibe: Shy at first, sweet, playful, affectionate once comfortable
Loves: Pouncing, purring, playtime, one-on-one cuddles, quiet attention
Needs: Patient home, decompression time, gentle intro, love, stability
Notes: Takes time to warm up. Total love bug once he knows you
Promise: A loyal, playful boy who will make you feel special every single day.

Roscoe: The Gentleman Left Behind 💛🐾
Meet Roscoe — 8 years old and learning that goodbye wasn’t his choice.
Roscoe’s owner recently passed away and now he finds himself here, at an overcrowded shelter looking for a new forever family. He had a home. He had a person. He had a bed that smelled like someone who loved him. Then the door closed one last time and didn’t open again. Now he’s in a loud kennel, surrounded by strangers, wondering what he did wrong. He didn’t. The world just kept going without him.
Roscoe is a shy, timid, but sweet boy overall. He won’t rush the gate to meet you. He’ll hang back, head low, eyes hopeful but unsure. Is it safe? Are you kind? Can he trust you not to leave too? Sit on the floor. Talk softly. Offer a treat with patience. Watch his tail give one slow, careful wag. That’s Roscoe saying “maybe.” And “maybe” from him is everything. When he decides you’re safe, he’s gentle. He leans. He sighs. He looks at you like you’re the first good thing he’s seen in weeks.
Roscoe is on several medications for a skin infection. Adopter needs to be aware and can contact us for info on this. It’s being treated. He’s on the mend. But he’ll need a family who sees vet visits and meds not as a burden, but as part of loving an old soul. He’s not “damaged goods.” He’s a senior who needs care. Call us — we’ll walk you through everything. His comfort is worth it.
Roscoe is, simply put, a sweet older gent that is looking for a quiet and loving home where he will get the love and care he deserves. No chaos. No kids climbing on him. No other pets pushing him around unless it’s the right match. He needs soft beds. Short walks. Predictable days. A person who understands that 8 years old isn’t “old” — it’s distinguished. It’s grateful. It’s still plenty of time to love and be loved.
He hasn’t had the best few weeks. Losing your person will do that. But he’s still here. Still sweet. Still hoping someone walks in and sees him — not the skin issues, not the gray muzzle, not the fear — but the dog who just wants to feel safe again.

Roscoe’s Details:
Age: 8 years old
Status: Owner passed away | Senior | Ready for adoption
Vibe: Shy, timid, sweet, gentle, grateful soul
Loves: Quiet companionship, soft beds, gentle pets, routine, feeling safe
Needs: Calm adult home, patience, medical follow-up for skin, love, stability
Notes: On meds for skin infection — contact us for details. Unknown with kids/pets
Promise: A loyal, tender old gent who will love you quietly and completely.

Minnie: Tiny, Feisty, Fiercely Independent 😼💛
Meet Minnie — 3 months old and already running the show.
Minnie is a feisty little ball of fluff, who is an independent gal. She’s not a clingy kitten. She’s a CEO. She has places to be, corners to conquer, and dust bunnies that won’t hunt themselves. She’ll accept your application for Head of Snacks and Chief Belly Rubs, but she’s the one doing the hiring.
She loves to explore, hide and when she is good and ready will seek you out for some cuddles. She’ll map every inch of your house before you finish your coffee. Under the couch? Cleared it. Behind the curtains? Her office now. Inside the tissue box? Don’t ask. Then, on her schedule, she’ll appear in your lap like “Oh, you’re here. I suppose you can pet me now.” And when she purrs? You’ve been chosen. It’s an honor.
Minnie is hoping to find a loving family who will give her time, love and compassion while she adjusts to new faces and surroundings. She’s bold, but new is still new. She needs a home that respects her independence, laughs at her antics, and understands that trust is earned — even when it comes with 3am zoomies. No forcing cuddles. No rushing friendship. Just patience, playtime, and letting her come to you. Do that, and you’ll have the most loyal little shadow.
She’s 3 months: litterbox trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and 100% kitten chaos. She’s tiny now, but her personality is stadium-sized. She’s not for someone who wants a stuffed animal. She’s for someone who wants a roommate with whiskers, opinions, and a PhD in parkour.

Minnie’s Details:
Age: 3 months old
Vibe: Feisty, independent, curious, cuddly-on-her-terms, hilarious
Loves: Exploring, hiding, ambush attacks, wand toys, choosing when to cuddle
Needs: Patient home, enrichment, respect for boundaries, playtime, love
Notes: Not a lap-cat… yet. Will seek affection when ready. Full of personality
Promise: A bold, loving girl who will keep you laughing and feeling chosen.

EZZIEBELA IS READY FOR HER TURN. 💔

Ezziebela is 3 years old, 65 lbs, and has been waiting at the shelter since 9/24/25.

She arrived with another dog, Boss. Boss found an amazing family, and that family recently gave Ezziebela the most wonderful gift—a weekend away from the shelter. ❤️

And she showed everyone exactly what she’s been waiting for.

🏡 She loved being in a home.
🪟 She happily watched wildlife through the window.
🐾 She curled up comfortably in a dog bed.
❤️ She snuggled with her humans.
🍽️ She enjoyed good meals with even better company.

For one weekend, Ezziebela got to experience what it feels like to belong somewhere.

Now she’s back at the shelter, waiting for someone to choose her.

Ezziebela doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She is a sweet girl who deserves more than kennel walls. She deserves a soft bed, peaceful mornings, a window to watch the world from, and people of her very own.

Boss got his happy ending. Please help Ezziebela find hers. 🥺❤️

Someone out there is exactly what she needs. Please give this beautiful girl a chance.

For more info, call us at 248-858-1297. Let's get this sweet girl into a loving home.

***Adopted!!!***

Sweet Susie (not Suz): 💛🐾
Meet Sweet Susie — 12 years young and waiting for her very special person to find her.
Just like that Seinfeld episode... no, no, she’s not Suz. She’s Susie. And Sweet Susie is waiting patiently for a very special person to become her champion.
After spending her whole life with a loving owner, Susie is understandably confused and unsure about all the changes happening around her. She had a home. She had a person. She had a routine that made sense for 12 years. Then overnight, everything changed. She didn’t do anything wrong. She just got left behind when life moved on without her.
Shelter life has been a difficult adjustment for this gentle girl, and she's hoping someone kind-hearted will see the loving companion she truly is. The noise. The strangers. The other cats. It’s all too much for a senior lady who just wants a sunny window and a quiet lap. She’s not feral. She’s not mean. She’s just heartbroken and overwhelmed. But underneath the fear is the cat she used to be — affectionate, loyal, and full of quiet love.
Susie has not had much experience around children or dogs, so a calm, quieter home would likely help her feel most comfortable. She’s spent her life as a one-person cat in an adult home. Loud noises and chaos aren’t her style. Think retirement community energy: low-key, predictable, peaceful. She’d thrive with a fellow introvert who understands that the best company doesn’t need to fill the silence.
Though she may be shy at first, we truly believe that with patience, understanding, and love, the right person will help her personality shine through. Give her a week to hide under the bed. Give her a month to eat when you’re not looking. Give her time, and you’ll see it — the slow blink. The head bump. The quiet purr that says “okay, you’re safe.” She won’t climb your curtains. She’ll climb into your heart.
Beneath her timid nature is a darling cat who deserves another chance at the safe, happy life she once knew. She’s 12: litterbox trained, past the kitten chaos, and just wants a soft place to land. She has so much love left to give. She just needs someone to be her Elaine — someone who sees Susie, not Suz, and says “you’re worth it.”
Senior cats have the hardest time getting adopted. But they’re also the most grateful. Come visit with Sweet Susie today at Oakland County Animal Shelter. Be her champion. Show her that 12 isn’t too late for a happy ending.
Susie’s Details:
Age: 12 years old
Status: Owner surrender | Senior | Ready for adoption
Vibe: Gentle, shy, quiet, affectionate once comfortable, dignified lady
Loves: Calm spaces, soft beds, sunny windows, quiet companionship, patience
Needs: Adult-only, pet-free home preferred, decompression time, understanding, love
Notes: No kids/dogs. Timid but sweet. Shelter-stressed. Needs a hero
Promise: A loyal, grateful senior who will repay your kindness with quiet devotion.
