The mission of the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center is to protect public safety through the enforcement of applicable state laws, to educate the public about responsible pet ownership, and to provide a humane haven for animals in our care and, where possible, to endeavor to reunite pets with their owners and to promote responsible pet placement. Berkley (4-year-old) is a sweet soul who's having a hard time in the shelter environment . Being in a cage is stressful for her, but once she's out and about, her true personality shines!

My name is Cheddar and I am an 8-month-old, male who along with my siblings was dumped at a park. I have not had the best start in life thus far. Do I dislike humans? NO! I just might need you to sit with me for a few minutes so I can get used to you and see you are here to love me and not harm me, once this trust is established, I come out of my shell and my puppy side comes out with tail wags and cuddles. I hope to find a home where I will be given PLENTY of TLC and learn that there are humans in this world here to love and protect us instead of harm us.
