Two local artists, Leah and Isabel Benolken, will be leading guests in a whimsy floral painting, with a special paw-touch dedicated to the pet in your life. Grab a bite to eat from the kitchen and a fun beverage to sip on while these two incredibly talented ladies guide guests step-by-step to create their own masterpiece! ✨

Meet Teddy 🧡 🐾 a brave and affectionate young cat who is now looking for his forever home!

Teddy’s story began when some of our incredible Pause 4 Paws supporters spotted him alongside a busy highway. Thanks to their compassion and quick thinking, Teddy was safely rescued and brought into our care.

Despite efforts to find his original family, no one came forward. After weeks of searching, Teddy was neutered, microchipped, and fully vetted—and now he is ready for his next chapter.

Teddy is approximately one year old and full of personality. He is outgoing, loving, and adores attention. He does occasionally nip, which we are working on, so he would do best in a home without small children.

Teddy would thrive either as the only cat in the home or in a household with a dog. His playful spirit and affectionate nature make him a truly special companion for the right family.

Meet Seven Adorable Cats Searching for Their Forever Homes🐾💛

From time to time, Pause 4 Paws finds itself in a unique position. Although we are not a rescue organization, there are moments when a volunteer, foster, or trusted partner rescues a stray cat—or we learn of a cat in a vulnerable
or urgent situation.

When no rescue group can step in, we do everything we can to find a safe, loving foster home for the cat while we search for their forever family and if one is not found, we treat them medically and the adoption process begins.

Right now, we have seven amazing cats looking for homes of their own. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting, please reach out to Jill directly at [email protected].

A couple of members from the stopped by Fix Auto today to drop off tie blankets that they made for dogs & cats in need! We are so appreciative & THANKFUL for the kindness these teens showed our organization. These blankets are awesome & will be loved by so many. 🤍

From Highway Rescue to Hopeful Home: Meet Leo 🐾💛

Sometimes, the animals find us.

While driving to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital the night before Chloe’s second surgery, I was on my way to meet her fosters, Michele and Stan. Just a few blocks away from them on the highway, I received a call from them—they had spotted a cat alongside the highway.

With a careful and determined game of “Frogger,” Michele was able to entice the cat with some wet food. That cat was Leo.

Leo came into Pause 4 Paws that night, and I had the joy of fostering him while we searched for a possible owner. After a couple of weeks with no leads, our friends at MNSNAP neutered him when a cancellation opened up. MNSNAP provides high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter surgeries, helping prevent overpopulation and improve the lives of companion animals. Since 2010, they have sterilized 212,412 animals—and we are so grateful to partner with them in this life-saving work.

Why I’m here: I am on the board at Jill’s request

My furry friends: My furry friends are Nickel and Penny who are two feline leukemia positive cats who we consented to have in our home for a month until a foster could be found. It is almost two years later, and they are still living with us. I think it is safe to say that they have found their “forever” home.

A fun fact: (maybe not so much) We have never had a cat and were unfamiliar with their likes and dislikes so it has been an interesting experience.

Are you a morning person or night owl? I am a morning person.

Coffee or tea? Chai Tea

What’s the funniest thing your pet has done? Penny is verbal when she wants something like someone to shake the wand with a mouse on the end so she can chase it. She can do this for hours. If we put the wand down, she will “talk” until she gets someone to shake it again for her.

Day job: No day job other than being a volunteer

Meet Morgan! 🧡

Morgan is between 1-2 years old and has already overcome so much—he had an eye removed prior to being abandoned, but that doesn’t slow him down. He is affectionate, loving, and outgoing. He adores people (including kids!), gets along with other cats and dogs, and is as friendly as they come.

At his recent vet visit, the doctor had a hard time listening to his heart because he couldn’t stop purring. He’s even a little chatty—ready to tell you all about his day!

Now, Morgan needs what he truly deserves—a forever home.

That’s a wrap!

We weathered the winter storm in MN yesterday evening to pick up all of the extremely generous donations from the Fix Auto pet supply drive! 🚗🐾 Not pictured: Jill’s Jeep overflowing with goodies!!!!! Food, bedding, toys, basic necessities - THANK YOU to everyone that contributed! We are thankful for each of you! 🤍

These donations will be going to Light Shine Rescue, associated with the Pine Ridge Reservation.

We’re celebrating today!!! P4P founder, Jill, brought these two, Rosy & Morgan, back with her from Mexico this afternoon. They both have loving homes awaiting them 🏠🫶🏻

Rosy the pup was struggling in a shelter with 85 other dogs. This video of her was taken last night - the first night out of the shelter. Look at that SMILE! 🥰

Morgan the cat was in a shelter with 250 others - & was miserable. We’re so excited that she has a forever home here in MN! ❤️

Today is a good day! We are feeling thankful. Thank you to everyone involved!
