Tick season is here, and these tiny hitchhikers are sneaky! 🌿 After every walk, hike, or backyard adventure, give your dog or cat a thorough tick check. Here are the spots you don't want to miss:

🐾 In & around the ears
🐾 Around the eyelids
🐾 Under collar & neck area
🐾 Under front legs
🐾 Between back legs
🐾 Around the tail
🐾 Between the toes

Part the fur and feel carefully around each area. The sooner a tick is found and removed, the better!

Between the toes is where they LOVE to hide 👀 Save this for later.

Tick season is in full swing, and while Lyme disease gets most of the attention, tick paralysis is one of the faster-moving emergencies we see this time of year. 🧡

Unlike tick-borne infections, this condition is caused by a neurotoxin in tick saliva. It typically takes 3 to 7 days of attachment before symptoms appear, and it progresses quickly once it starts.

Early signs include hind leg weakness, a wobbly gait, and changes in bark or voice. As it advances, it can affect breathing.

Looking to strengthen your bond and build better habits with your dog? Our group training classes offer a fun, positive environment to develop confidence, communication, and everyday skills for both dogs and their people.

✨ Puppy Class (6 months & under)
Mondays | 6:00–7:00 PM
May 11 – June 8
(No class Memorial Day)

✨ Adult Class (6 months & older)
Thursdays | 6:00–7:00 PM
May 14 – June 18

All classes are held at The Hickory Pet Inn. Spots are limited, so be sure to reserve your place!
