Dante is an 8-month-old golden retriever. Today he worked on walking calmly around another dog for the very first time.

We started with parallel walking, worked through crossing paths and changing direction, and finished with both dogs holding a down/stay as the rain started coming down.

Training isn't just about teaching commands. It's about helping dogs learn how to stay calm, focused, and connected with their handler when the environment around them changes.

Yesterday was National Dog Day, and I got to spend the day with some great dogs.

Skippy trained at the park for the first time, Callie is learning to string together some advanced maneuvers, and June went on her very first hike.

Every dog is at a different stage, but the goal is always the same: build confidence, create good habits, and keep expanding their world.
