MICROCHIPS WORK!!!!! He’s REUNITED & HOME!!

Lentil had at least 5 guardian angels or so looking out for him this morning after he was spotted running loose in Penn Hills on Saltsburg Road. At some point he was hit by a car during his freedom run which slowed him down significantly and allowed him to be captured. Hoffman’s was called prior to us being contacted but due to some determined humans we intercepted him. The AC officer dispatched didn’t bring a microchip scanner and advised he wouldn’t receive any veterinary care for his fresh injury. 🥺 Wendy Lee is why I made a 1 1/2 hour round trip from our little town of Vandergrift to help.

I immediately walked him into our vet’s office and he was getting xrayed in minutes right after scanning him. Microchipped!! Registered!! I had his new adopter (of just 2 weeks) on the phone and heading to meet us to go over his xray results with Dr J in less than 30 minutes of picking him up from his holding hero, Charlie! We all were Lentil’s dream team!!

We paid for his X-ray and needed antibiotic’s/pain meds as dad wasn’t financially prepared for this unexpected expense so if anyone can help reimburse us $429.55 for his bill that would be WONDERFUL!! I never charge a cent for my gas or time but we can’t help found dogs who cost us hundreds unfortunately but when no one else can step up we try to when asked by VIP requesters!! THANK YOU ALL!!

He soaked up sunshine and scratchers while we waited!! Such a sweet senior!

As flowers bloom, so do risks for our pets, with plenty of opportunity for them to breathe in particles, scratch an eye, poke a paw, or even get snagged by a branch or thorn, all of which could potentially lead to infections.

Infections can be sneaky subtle—If your pet is not acting right and you are not sure what it is, get them checked! Like with most conditions, the sooner we treat an infection, the better your pet will feel.

We will be offering walk-in technician appts tomorrow (5/29/26) from 10am to 1pm!

As we will not have our head technician working tomorrow, we will not be able to offer any vaccines other than bordetella. It would be a great day to pop in for other services like nail trims, glands, ear cleans, bloodwork, etc.

Reminder: We will not have a doctor in the clinic at all tomorrow or Saturday. Our doctors will be back on Monday.
