Fridays this month are gonna look a little different around here 🪄🔙 We’re taking it back to where our design journey started and highlighting the projects that helped shape the designer we are today.

We’re sharing another one of our favorite designs from our early hospitality era: an industrial chic bar & dining area for an upscale Philadelphia hotel! A custom wallpaper mural, moody lighting, and tonal hues create an urban space that’s equal parts refined and relaxed for socializing or business.

This project was one of our most memorable; not because of the final results, but the challenges we faced on our way to the finish line.

When custom designing a hotel, we’re typically working with the client AND the hotel brand throughout the design process and, in this case, neither one saw eye to eye on much…at all. Our job was to play peacemaker and find the best solutions that met all requirements while making sure everybody was satisfied. ⚖️

The journey may not have been a smooth one, but it taught us that great design takes time, perseverance, and patience.

We’re excited to share an exclusive look at our profile in the upcoming July issue of Architectural Digest Pittsburgh Metro for Excellence in Design!

In this feature, we dive into our core values, how these shape strong client relationships, and why that matters for designing interiors. When trust is established early, creativity can freely flow — allowing us to curate spaces that are deeply personal, elevated, and beyond the ordinary.

To be recognized in a publication that we’ve followed since the early days of our career among incredible design talent is truly special and we are ever grateful for the continuous support, business, and experiences that have led to this moment 🤍

Be sure to subscribe to Architectural Digest and check out the full feature on July 7th!

Friday’s this month are gonna look a little different around here 🪄🔙 We’re taking it back to where our design journey started and highlighting the projects that helped shape the designer we are today.

10 years ago our journey began in hospitality design — a niche we’ve always had a passion for — and this was one of our first custom hotel projects that we had the pleasure of designing. We learned how to custom color carpet, select contract grade materials and textiles for heavy wear & tear, and draft diagrams for lighting installations.

It was our first taste of the fast-paced environment that comes with hotel design, from quick turn arounds, navigating lead times and client feedback, and communicating with contractors. It was our first time working alongside a team and being a part of something bigger.

And why is this project so special to us? Because it was the first time in our early career that we were able to watch our hard work actually come to life. We had the opportunity to not just see the final result, but celebrate it with the client.

That’s the true motivation that drives us and there’s nothing more rewarding.

This young family of four needed a more practical space on their main floor that functions for everyday use and not just special occasions. Replacing the heavy pub table and stools with a sleek wall-to-wall bench complements the scale of the space better and opens it up, creating a pass through area that flows much more effortlessly between the great room and dining room.

Stay tuned to see how we finish this space ✨

Cheers to a beautiful planet [& keeping it that way] 🌏🤲🏼

Designing spaces for longevity and environmental health is something we’re passionate about and we always aim to support sustainable practices in our field. But for us, helping the environment doesn’t just stop with our work. As someone that does like to shop often and tends to accumulate items I “think” I need (anyone else? 🫣), I make it a priority to go through my closet at least twice a year to donate things that no longer serve me but could make a difference for someone else.

Last week our vendor reps with REPCO II Flooring Trends- PIttsburgh & Designtex organized a “sip and swap” event where anyone could bring clothing items that they no longer wear, don’t fit, etc. to swap with each other, and whatever didn’t get taken was donated to local donation centers like Dress for Success Pittsburgh, that aim to help struggling women. It’s a fantastic way to give back and support sustainability while also purging your closet! ♻️

Thank you ladies for hosting this again this year!

It was a gorgeous day 🌤️ for a tour at The Frick Pittsburgh Museums and Gardens!

Our dear friend Amber Chorba with Bennett Supply invited us on a ✨rare✨ tour of the 3rd and 4th floors of the — the Gilded Age mansion once home to the Frick family that’s been standing since the late 1800s. It was fascinating to learn about not only the history of the home and family as we walked through, but to learn of the constant restoration efforts happening to the interior and exterior.

The exterior brick — which is estimated to have had somewhere between 7 and 22 coats of paint during its lifetime 🤯 — is currently being restored to its original color (as seen in the 4th photo). While the first two interior floors have been preserved and restored quite nicely, the upper floors of the home have yet to be transformed and still have original wallpaper, carpet, millwork, hardware, and other design elements from the 20th century. Many of the rooms hold the Frick’s possessions that are still being sorted through to this day. One recent discovery was a small trunk full of French perfume that hadn’t been touched for decades!

We of course had to also stop in and see the Greenhouse and have lunch at the Frick Cafe ☕️ If you haven’t visited this historic Pittsburgh gem yet, this is your sign to go! We’ll definitely be back again.
