The Pipestone County Kennel does not euthanize any lost dogs that come to our facility. If unclaimed, I make every effort to rehome first. If that doesn't work, they are released to a humane society or rescue. I am not a rescue and I will not take dogs that someone is looking to rehome. I only take care of dogs that are brought by law enforcement for the following reasons: lost dogs, dogs that are quarantined due to a bite history or are pending a criminal decision due to such, and occasionally when someone is on a medical hold and there are no other caregivers. I do not pick up or take dogs myself for any reason. I will post the dogs to this page and local groups as fast as possible, but the kennel is open for law enforcement 24/7 so I may be gone, sleeping or at work so it might take a bit to get them posted/ taken back to owners.
