Peanut's Place Cat Sanctuary

Peanut's Place Cat Sanctuary Peanut's Place is located near Pipestone, Minnesota at a private residence.

Peanut's Place was privately started in December of 2003 in memory of a small golden kitten with a big personality who was rescued from an "extermination" operation, only to die several months later under anesthesia while being neutered. Peanut's Place is a non-traditional cage free sanctuary that seeks to provide love, comfort, and care to the cats who call us home. As of May 1 2017 Peanut's Plac

e has become a CLOSED Sanctuary for the cats who will live out their lives here until it is time for them to make their own journey across the Rainbow Bridge.

The Boys of Summer ~

It's been quite a circus around here this Summer....

After moving "the boys" last Fall from their Buffalo Barn birth home to the Back Porch for the Winter months it was a LONG wait for good weather. At the end of May it became time for the Big Adventure.....The Gates were put back on the main driveway and Peanut's Place became once again, fully enclosed.

At first their "outdoor time" only occured with me fully present. To begin with they were each nervous in their own little ways but as they learned the boundaries and found their safe space under the motorhome which is parked righ next to the back porch ~ they became carefree and engaged fully in the Great Outdoors.

I use a "schedule" twice a day to call them back in to the porch at noon and in the early evening. When they hear me call they all "come a runnin" (it involves treats, of course) and willingly take a break. It's a riot! Part of this was easy to do because I spent so much time bonding with them when they were little and have carried the same activities I used then with them now.

They love to follow us around to whatever human activity we are engaged in and are happy to "engage" too!

It has been a good, very busy Summer!
