As many as 50 million US pets don’t receive necessary veterinary care. Difficulties in obtaining care for our pets can range from financial hardship to transportation/location difficulties, so our goal is to help outfit our partners with grants that can help them take care of the pets in their community. Harriet once walked to the senior center to share meals with friends through the congregate meal program. But as the years passed, she outlived many of those friends, and her world grew smaller.

Now, her garden is her sanctuary, and her dog is her most loyal companion. She spends her days tending to her flowers, playing with her furry friend, and relying on Meals on Wheels Texoma to ensure both she and her pet receive the nutrition they need.

For many older adults, pets provide companionship and comfort, but access to pet food can be a challenge. Through our partnership with Meals on Wheels America, we’re helping seniors like Harriet and their pets—because no one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their best friend. 💙

When wildfires swept through Southern California, we stepped in to help keep pets and people together. ❤️

Through our partnership with the American Humane Society, we supported emergency response efforts for families impacted by the fires — bringing critical care and comfort in the middle of crisis. Together, we supported:

🐾 The delivery of emergency supplies—food, bowls, beds, and toys—to families and their pets in the evacuation zones
🩺 Veterinary relief clinics for pets affected by the fires and their deployment to evacuation zones
🏥 Support for American Humane’s collaboration with American Red Cross, ensuring pets in ARC shelters received vital health assessments—a lifeline that wouldn’t have been possible without our support

Crystal and Jodey, two neighbors with a deep bond, faced serious medical challenges that made caring for their pets, Nana and Girlfriend, difficult. Pets4Life Louisville stepped in to help, ensuring they had pet food, supplies, and the support needed to keep their beloved animals by their side. 💙

When Jodey had to move, Crystal took in Girlfriend, giving her a loving home. Pets4Life continued to provide resources, helping Crystal care for her pets through life’s challenges.

Crystal shared, "They are angels. Without this program, my dog, Girlfriend, and my cat, Nana, would not be with me today."

Through our support, we are able to support organizations like Pets4Life helps families like Crystal’s keep their pets safe, happy, and right where they belong—at home. 🏡

They say cats have nine lives, and thanks to Nova Scotia SPCA - Dartmouth Shelter's Tartan Tails Veterinary Hospital, Oreo still has plenty left.

At 12 years old, Oreo needed urgent dental surgery, but the cost was too much for her family. Without care, she could have faced chronic pain and other health issues. Through our support, Tartan Tails provided the treatment she needed—without financial strain on her family.

Now, Oreo is back to her feisty, happy self, proving that access to veterinary care changes lives. We’re proud to support programs that keep pets and their families together.

Heidi, our Director of Pet Placement Initiatives, adopted Gatsby two years ago when he was found as a stray. Gatsby is blind and deaf, and Heidi knew the shelter wouldn’t be the best environment for a dog like him.

She brought him home, and within two weeks, he adjusted beautifully to his new life. He’s calm, sweet, and loves being around people — Heidi believes he’d even make a great therapy dog one day.

After losing her home in the Eaton Canyon Fire, one of many devastating LA Wildfires, Dana and her two dogs, Ivory and Draco, were left to navigate an uncertain future. Evacuated twice, they bounced between friends’ homes, Airbnbs, and temporary rentals. The stress took its toll—but especially on Ivory.

What first seemed like a prolonged heat cycle turned out to be something much more dangerous. Ivory was diagnosed with pyometra—a life-threatening infection that required emergency surgery. Without it, she wouldn’t survive.

Dana couldn’t afford the high cost of care—but because of our support for the Community Animal Medicine Project (C.A.M.P.) and their Fire Emergency Fund, their San Pedro clinic was able to provide free, life-saving surgery for Ivory. Today, Ivory has made a full recovery and is back to her playful self. 🐾

💙 Our Accelerator Grant also played a key role—helping C.A.M.P. keep operations running smoothly and care affordable for all clients during such a challenging time.

Thanks to your support, we’re able to stand behind the people and partners making the impossible possible—so pets like Ivory can stay right where they belong: with the people who love them most.
