Nimbus needs a ride Wednesday 11/4 from Westminster to Whitehall in the morning and then back in the afternoon so he can get to his vet appointment for surgery. He could also do an overnight temporary stay the night prior if that is better. Please let us know if you’re able to help! Thank you so much!

‼️🚨 Help Petey find a new home! 🏡 Guys this sweet boy has waited long enough for a home of his own and unfortunately his foster brother was just diagnosed with cancer and his foster mom can’t take care of Petey and a sick pup, so Petey needs a new home. 😩 Petey is the bestest boy. He walks well on a leash in the city, is a road trip champ, and gets along nicely with other dogs. Petey’s only fault is his DNA. 🧬 He’s not fluffy, not a doodle and is sure to have terrier in his genes. We think he’s perfect, but he always seems to get over looked! 👀 Let’s change that!

Did you know that October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Month?

This month long initiative was started by the American Humane Society in 1981! That’s over 40 years ago! Let’s keep it rolling!

TRU Rescue supports the transition of shelter dogs to fosters and ultimately to forever homes. And we have all sorts and types of dogs that might be perfect for YOU! We have football fans, baseball fans, hikers, fetchers, loungers, movie fans, and crisp fresh fall air fans. Reach out and find you perfect companion 💕 🐶💕

🐾 BIG DOG. BIG HEART. BIG SLOBBER. FOSTER NEEDED! 🐾

Who doesn’t love a Saint Bernard?! Especially one that comes with a heart of gold and a little extra drool 😂💦

Meet Duncan! ❤️ This handsome, oversized teddy bear found himself wandering the backroads of southern Virginia, severely underweight and with nobody looking for him. 💔

At an estimated 6–8 years young, Duncan is a laid-back, gentle giant who seems to have missed the memo that life hasn’t always been kind to him.

🐾 Dog friendly? CHECK!
🐱 Cat friendly? So far, so good!
❤️ Sweet, mellow, lovable? TRIPLE CHECK!
💦 Slobber included? It’s a Saint Bernard, folks. Consider it complimentary!

Duncan has some some weight to gain and definitely needs a little TLC, but what he needs most is someone willing to open their home and give this big guy the soft landing he deserves.

🚨 DUNCAN NEEDS A FOSTER BY WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 when he arrives in Maryland🚨

He has already spent enough time being unwanted and overlooked. Let’s make sure the next chapter of his life includes a comfy bed, a full belly, and someone who doesn’t mind keeping a towel handy! 🥹❤️

🐻 MEET BALOO! 🐻

Baloo made quite the journey to TRU Rescue all the way from Kosovo, and now this sweet guy is looking for a special home to help him through the next chapter of his life. 💙

Baloo can be a little timid at times, and considering his history and the discomfort he’s been living with, we can’t blame him. Unfortunately, we recently learned that this young boy will need a total hip replacement.

The good news? TRU Rescue will cover the cost of his surgery. 🙌 What we would LOVE is to find Baloo a foster-to-adopt home where he can settle in before surgery and have a familiar, comfortable place to recover afterward.

🐾 A little about Baloo:
• Dog friendly — currently living happily with two larger dogs
• Enjoys playing tug with people and other dogs
• Loves crinkly and squeaky toys
• Enjoys walks and does pretty well on leash
• Mostly housebroken, although his signals to go outside can be subtle
• Loves lounging and watching the world go by through the window — give this boy a view or your blinds may pay the price 😂
• Likes being near his people, but he’s more of a “hang out beside you” guy than a cuddler
• Curious about cats and outdoor critters, although we don’t know how he would do living with cats

Baloo doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for him — he needs someone willing to give him stability, patience, and a safe place to land while we get that painful hip fixed. ❤️

🏡 Foster-to-adopt preferred so Baloo can recover from his hip replacement in the home that could become his forever, but are open to Foster only with a foster who can see him through this surgery! We will be here to support you every step of the way!

🐾FOSTER NEEDED🐾

Alex is being surrendered to us to not fault of his own. He’s a sweet boy who currently lives with children, one being special needs, and doesn’t seem to mind cats. His owner is moving but cannot take him along 😔 He is 5 years old and weighs around 8lbs.

🚙 URGENT! TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED 9/28 from Baltimore County Animal Shelter to Harrisburg, PA🚙

Little Polo and Marco had transport secured tomorrow, but plans have changed with our volunteer driver. If anyone is able to pick them up from the shelter at 3 PM tomorrow and get them up to a foster in Harrisburg PA, please let us know!
