❤️ A Little Raw Truth From TRU Rescue ❤️
Adoptions are down. Foster homes are at an all-time low. Shelters are overcrowded, and dogs are facing euthanasia for space at an alarming rate.
The heartbreaking reality is that when dogs aren’t moving from rescue into adoptive homes, foster homes stay full. And when we don’t have open foster homes, we simply cannot say YES to the shelter dogs who desperately need somewhere safe to go.
This isn’t just a TRU Rescue problem. Rescues and shelters everywhere are struggling right now.
Before anything else, we want to say how incredibly grateful we are for our foster families—especially those who have opened their homes to dogs for weeks or even months while they wait for their forever families. ❤️ We are equally grateful for our amazing volunteers who continue to give their time, energy, and hearts to keep TRU going. We could not do this without you.
But right now, TRU Rescue desperately needs foster homes.
We have puppies who need new foster placements. We have dogs who have been in the same foster homes for a long time and would benefit from a change of environment. We have dogs who have completed training and are ready to transition into foster or adoptive homes. And we have shelter partners reaching out, begging us to help dogs who are running out of time.
Sometimes saving just one dog may not feel like enough—but to that one dog, it means everything. 🐾

Applying doesn’t mean you’re committing to a dog. It gives us the opportunity to talk with you, answer your questions, and help determine what type of foster situation might work for your home.
TRU will be there to support you. We can provide the supplies you need, guidance and advice, training support, and veterinary coverage. You won’t be doing this alone.
The truth is, our rescue cannot continue saving lives without foster homes.
