This year, we are celebrating 40 Years of Briarpatch Bearded Collies. For 40 years, my Mother has devoted her time, energy, love, and smarts to producing, training, and showcasing beautiful Bearded Collies to the fancy.
In December 1983, she had her first home-bred litter of Beardies; from there, she hasn't looked back. We have yet to tally up the total number of champions, but we know it's an exceptional amount. Since 1990, she has had 3 Canadian National Specialty Winners, 9 multiple Regional Specialty winners, the No. 1 Bearded Collie Breed Points in 2000, BOW at the American National in 2019, WB at the Canadian National at least 4 times, BOS at the American National Specialty in 2021, and BOB at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2022.
While we are primarily highlighting Briarpatch's most notable Conformation accolades, it's necessary to note that she has always strived to ensure our dogs are 'balanced.' Each dog in our household proudly carries a CH. at the front and at least one performance title at the back. From Herding, Obedience, FastCat, Agility, and Rally, she has ensured that our dogs not only embody the breed standard but are also intelligent.
This year, please help me celebrate Lucy Campbell. While she was hesitant even to mention it has been 40 years, She will greatly appreciate the support from not only the Bearded Collie community but from the Fancy as a whole.
