What better way to start the summer than with two fresh from holding wild horse and b***o! We went to the Anneville BLM Adoption event today, and took these two girls back to the farm. The yearling filly, and her student trainer are piloting our junior mustang training program. We look forward to sharing their progress! The b***o is a new permanent member of the ReeLee family. She is 12 years old, from Havasu Arizona, and was captured last August. Our big question for her now… is she pregnant? What do you all think? ***o

This amazing Rescue gave us our boy Donut. They experienced every barn owner’s worst nightmare this morning. The loss of animals is tragic. But the treatment of those in critical care, as well as the continued care of those in the rescue is going to take a village while things are rebuilt and food and supplies restocked. A little over a week ago we saw a post about a stray peacock that no one had claimed despite the homeowners efforts to call every imaginable source to find his home. Although he was making himself right at home on their chimney, deck, and front driveway, the likelihood of predation, lack of proper nutrition, and having to fend for himself had many worried. After a few attempts to help catch him we decided the best bet was going to be to trap him. And what better way than t in play the calls of his people (peahen calls) into their garage! Yesterday he walked right in and we picked him up and bought him home. He is at least three years old based on his feathering, and generally in good health. He could use to gain a little bit of weight, and we have already treateded him for muted and dewormed him. Welcome to the family Wubba!

Rehab update! Liam’s Blue Moon is coming along nicely. He is handwalked daily and spends most of the day in his outdoor rehab pen. He will be allowed small paddock turnout soon and we can’t wait to see how well this big guy moves! Once he is finished his rehab he will be able to go on to an athletic asco d career! Stall Rest and Rehab do not have to be miserable for your horse. It doesn’t mean they don’t see the light of day for months at a time. At ReeLee we believe that successful rehab means not only following vet instructions, but also finding ways to keep rehabbing horses mentally happy and healthy. In addition to their own stall, we have outdoor rehab pens that we increase in size as the horse is able to handle more space. From the size of a 12x12 stall, to small roundpen, large roundpen, small paddock, and then eventually full turnout. We alao provide physical therapy exercises, including stretches, core work, proprioceptive exercises, and balance pads. Horses are hand grazed when allowed, handwalked per rehab instructions, and eventually legged up to go back to work using our incline treadmill, jogging machine, lunging, or even riding. Did we mention, owner/operator Kelsey Parisi is also a veterinary technician?

Whether your horse was injured, became ill, or just needs time off from a busy campaign, let us help them recover to the highest standard. We will work directly with your veterinarian of choice, or have connections at Mid Atlantic Equine, New Bolton Center, and other major hospitals. A horse getting hurt or sick is stressful, let us make the rehab portion worry free.
