🌈🌈🌈 RAINBOW PAW UPDATE - SOPHIE 🌈🌈🌈

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sad news of a very beloved little girl, Sophie and her passing. This sweet and lovable little girl certainly owned our hearts. Today we are all that much sadder to have lost one so very special to us. Heaven has gained a special little girl in Sophie; run free little one - no more pain, just fun and love.

As is tradition in rescue, DRBC will darken it's page today in memory of Sophie and the phenomenal gifts of love he brought us. Godspeed Sophie; know you went with so much love.

Hey Gang the rescue has hit a wall with heart worm disease. 3 dogs in our care need your assistance and need it NOW! The neglect in not giving heart worm medication and the reality of the resistant strain has impacted these dogs and our budget in a sad and measurable way. All 3 dogs [Maggie, Lacey and Mitch] urgently need a trip to the Cardiologist at Red Bank Veterinary, but having just survived a brutal fundraising winter, helping them will require a major assist. We know the DRBC Gang can help; please don't let these special little ones down.

This just in from the Adoption Group!! A very special Gold Paw is here!!!! It is Archer🙂. Today, we are thrilled to announce that his match of the heart has come! Heartworms can be spread to dogs, cats, and other animals through mosquito bites. These parasitic worms develop in major organs and can lead to cardiac arrest, liver failure, kidney failure, blood clots, and other life-threatening conditions. Prevention is always better than treatment, so talk to your primary care veterinarian about heartworm testing and prevention options.

In the unfortunate event that your pet does test positive for heartworm, treatment consists of either injection to kill the microfilariae (heartworm larvae) or heartworm extraction by a cardiologist. Our Cardiology team here at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital specializes in interventional cardiology and can provide options for heartworm treatment.

Hi Gang! Our spokespup Turk is all decked out for the holidays and is back to ask for your support. He is one of our sanctuary diabetics and he has come a long way with the right care. You know, we are seeing more and more diabetic senior doxies coming into DRBC these days.

We love to help, but it is sooo expensive. Yesterday we ordered 18 bottles of insulin at $55 each, ouch, there goes $1,000 🙁.
