Starting now: all gifts are DOUBLED for Paw it Forward!

Long before they learn our routines, our pets somehow know our hearts. They know when we need comfort, when we need laughter, and when we simply need companionship. The trust and love we share with our pets is one of life’s greatest gifts — and the inspiration behind Paw it Forward.

For the next 72 hours, we invite you to celebrate the joy our pets bring to our lives by paying it forward so that other pets and families can experience that same love. And thanks to a generous gift from The Landenberger Family Foundation, your generosity will go even farther! They’ll match every dollar you give, up to $25,000, to provide twice the compassion, care, and protection.

Your gift will be a lifeline to rescue homeless animals, and to preserve the bond between people and their pets — like the one shared by Nicole, Snoopi and Sweet Pea (pictured).

Nicole brought her pups to PAWS’ Grays Ferry Clinic to be spayed, seeking to protect their long-term health. But during Snoopi’s exam, our medical team discovered a heart murmur that made surgery unsafe to perform. We reached out to Nicole to help her navigate the next steps, and with additional testing and a personalized care plan, Snoopi was eventually cleared for surgery.

Before long, both dogs were safely spayed and back home, giving Nicole peace of mind that they had received the vital care they needed. Nicole described the PAWS team as “so kind and thoughtful and non-judgmental,” and shared that she “would not want to bring them anywhere else.”

Thousands of pets and families will be counting on us in the coming weeks and months. Please Paw it Forward to save lives and empower devoted pet parents to protect their family bonds! Donate now via Facebook, Venmo (username ), or at phillypaws.org/pawitforward.

Ps. To thank you for providing care to pets and families in need, we’ll send some love right back to you! Supporters who give at the “Good Neighbor” level or above will receive a complimentary 15-minute professional pet portrait session at Love Me Do Photography’s Fishtown studio!

Fosters to the rescue! 💪 24 animals have left the shelter for our Everyday Heroes Foster Challenge thanks to the incredible heroes who’ve opened their homes since June 1st. That means 24 pets are now relaxing in loving homes, all while opening up much-needed shelter space for more who need it!

Our goal is to match 300 pets with foster homes by July 31, but to do it, we need your help. The shelter is completely full, and every pet who leaves allows us to rescue another in their place.

Will you be their hero? Email [email protected] and our team will be in touch to match you with a homeless pet who needs you right now!

Have you met Bastet? She’s the affectionate, cuddly, and curious companion you’ve been searching for!

Named after the Egyptian goddess, this sweet girl will bring comfort, charm, and plenty of joy to any home lucky enough to have her. She absolutely adores being held, and melts into a purring bundle of contentment the moment she settles into your arms. When she wants attention or meals, you can also expect to be delighted by her endearing meows and chirps!

At 12 years old, Bastet is a relaxed queen who enjoys lazy days and cozy evenings spent curled up on a warm lap. She loves to be involved in the day-to-day happenings of her home, and will happily shadow you as you move from room to room or visit you for a midday cuddle break (the perfect work from home buddy)!

Bastet would be happy as an only pet or as a roomie to another relaxed feline, and can’t wait to join you for a marathon snuggle sesh. Email [email protected] or visit our adoptions page to learn more!

Do you have a soft spot for sweet and petite granny cats? Our shy girl Kisses would LOVE to go home with you!

She's very nervous at the shelter after returning from foster care (they adored her but couldn't keep her past May), and she hasn't had a great appetite as a result. She's looking for a foster or adopter who enjoys quiet companionship as much as she does!

At around 16 years old, Kisses has a calm and gentle presence, with the occasional burst of playful zoomies mixed in. Once she's had time to settle into her space, she's an incredibly affectionate girl who loves to be close to her person — she especially enjoys curling right up on your chest, and will join you for a nap the moment you lie down!

Kisses would likely do best in a home where she can be the only cat, with adopters who will let her warm up at her own pace and appreciate the sweet bond that follows. If you're looking for snuggles and soft girl energy, email [email protected] or [email protected] to learn about Kisses today!

: PAWS is seeking Safety Net foster homes! These cats are all cherished pets with owners who love them, and just need a temporary place for them to stay during a difficult transition. By providing a home for a few months until they can be reunited with their families again, you'll be saving a pet from heartache and saving an owner from losing their best friend.

Safety net fostering usually lasts between 3-5 months, and is a great way to enjoy some furry companionship if you’re not able to make a long term commitment. We have a long wait list of owners who are desperate to keep their pets, so even if you can't foster right now, we'd love to match you with someone whenever you're ready!

Email [email protected] to learn more about Cinnamon, Bambi & Baby Bell, Zylo & Bonnie, and Tigress. You can also read more about them at phillypaws.org/cats-needing-foster.
