We work mainly with youth who are experiencing homelessness, find themselves in transitional housing post foster care, & those involved in the juvenile justice system. Hand2Paw’s mission is to provide a safe and supportive work environment, for youth ages 16-24, who are experiencing housing insecurity or foster-care involvement, as a means of enhancing resilience, compassion, and connection with people, animals and the community of Philadelphia.

🌟 THANK YOU for Lifting Up Youth & Animals with Us! 🌟

Our recent Sip, Shop, & Support Friendraiser was a beautiful reflection of what happens when a community comes together to support a cause that bridges young people and animal welfare. Whether you showed up in person, donated, shopped at participating businesses, or took time to speak with our interns about their passions and goals — YOU are helping to spread the word about an organization that is creating real pathways for youth in the animal welfare field.

A huge thank you to Home Works for opening their doors and hosting us in their incredible space. You created the perfect setting for meaningful conversations and community connection.

They love to play, snuggle, and chatter with each other throughout the day. They’re calm and content when being held, enjoy lap time, and absolutely melt for gentle rubs. These boys have experience living with a dog and have done great around kids, making them an ideal match for a family home or a cozy setup with lots of love to give.

We’re excited to partner with ’s Career Connected Learning (C2L) program to bring you the Summer Pawspurr Internship — a paid opportunity to gain experience in exploring animal welfare and developing critical life and career skills.

📅 Dates: July 7 – August 15, 2025
🕒 Schedule: 3 days/week, 5 hours/day
💰 Stipend: $1,320 (paid in 3 installments)
🚍 Transportation help available
📍 Location: Olney, Philadelphia

Hand2Paw is a recipient of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Violence Prevention Grant Initiative, a grant established by seized funds from drug-related crimes. Thanks to District Attorney Larry Krasner and the entire DAO for supporting our ongoing community efforts. This grant will be used to support our organization’s mission to empower system-impacted youth through transformative programming, expand access to supportive services, and strengthen community partnerships focused on healing and violence prevention.
