As we head into the 2026 finals, I have some simple thoughts on perspective. This horse show, and really this whole futurity season, has had a tremendous amount of ups and downs for everyone, ourselves included. We have had more disappointments and battles lost than victories, and it seemed like every time I was at my lowest, the song “More Than Anything” would play on the radio on the way to the show.

There was one line in there that would pull everything into perspective -

“Help me want the giver, more than the giving.”

Whether you are heading into the finals, or heading home with disappointment, I hope that we can all remember this.

Whatever happens in that arena, we can not let that define us.

If you get a chance, take a listen to “More Than Anything” by Natalie Grant.
