The Babinski Foundation Non-profit that dedicates its services to Pequot Lakes and surrounding communities. LIC: MN195013

The Babinski Foundation will be the model shelter in our surrounding area, making sure that we address issues of pet overpopulation via our services and provide education on how to prevent it. We also aim to prevent as many pet deaths as we can year after year. The Babinski Foundation believes in the Five Freedoms for animal welfare.

Meet Margaret! She’s an 8-month-old, 35-pound German Shepherd and Pitty mix. Yeah, she looks cute, but her personality is even cuter! She is obsessed with people, and when she sees a friend, she army-crawls across the lawn straight into their lap. As you can see, she loves rolling on her back to get her belly rubbed, and she always has the biggest, goofiest smile on her face. Margaret's potty training has improved a lot here at the shelter. She doesn't have any accidents during the day, and in a home, she'll be able to perfect it quickly. She has some dog friends at the shelter, but she prefers playful and submissive dogs. She can be a little reactive with other dogs if they react to her first or if they come in too hot. Overall, Margaret is full of excitement and so much love!

Margaret is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Let’s go, Crosby! Let’s also… go to Crosby for Pups on the Patio at Bridge Tavern from 12:00 to 3:00 today! The Babinski Foundation will bring the adoptable animals and raffle tickets, while Bridge Tavern brings the delish food! Fair warning - the shelter puppies have mastered their "puppy eyes," so you might be tricked into handing over a french fry.

The "Z" puppies will be in attendance and we just don't know if you'll be able to resist their charms! These boys and girls are so loving, playful, and squishy!! They're microchipped, vaccinated to age, and available for foster to adopt until they're old enough to be neutered/spayed at The Babinski Foundation.

🎉 Happy National Dog Day from Millie! 🎉

On National Dog Day, we play fetch! Actually, we play fetch with Millie every day because it's her favorite thing in the world. This darling 2-year-old, 60-pound Lab mix came to our shelter as a stray and has been absolutely bringing energy to the table ever since. She's energetic, driven, and incredibly loving, so we think Millie has the potential to be an amazing hunting dog or active companion!

She’s already potty trained, knows how to sit on command (especially if a tennis ball is involved), and has a fantastic personality. Millie will do so well in an active home with plenty adventures or sessions of fetch. Once she gets her energy out, she’s out like a light and becomes the coziest cuddle buddy.

Millie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
