July is Lost Pet Prevention Month

A Message from Dr. Sprayberry & Olive Branch Pet Hospital

Summer brings sunshine, visitors, and fireworks—but it also leads to a rise in lost pets. To help keep your furry family members safe, here are a few simple reminders:

✅ Check collars & microchips – Make sure ID tags are secure and microchip info is up to date.

✅ Secure your space – Fences, gates, and doors should be checked regularly.

✅ Be alert in public spaces – At the park or beach, always use a leash and watch for escape risks.

✅ Keep photos handy – Having a recent picture can make a big difference if your pet goes missing.

Let’s work together to prevent heartache before it starts. If your pet ever goes missing—or if you find one—don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help.

🎆 Fourth of July Pet Safety Tips from Dr. Mark at Olive Branch Pet Hospital 🐾

As we approach the celebrations of Independence Day with fireworks, barbecues, and fun in the Florida sun, don’t forget to protect your furry family members! Many pets become anxious or even go missing during the 4th of July due to loud noises and unfamiliar activity so we ask our fellow pet parents to be. extra vigilant this holiday. 💙

Here are some essential tips to keep your pets safe and calm:

🧨 Fireworks & Noise Safety
Keep pets indoors – Even if they’re usually fine outside, fireworks can startle them into running away.

Consider anxiety aids – Talk to us about thunder shirts, pheromone sprays, or calming medications tailored for your pet.

🍔 BBQ & Picnic Cautions
Watch the snacks – Keep pets away from bones, onions, chocolate, alcohol, and other dangerous foods.

💡 Heat & Sun Protection
Hydration is key – Always have fresh, cool water available.

Use a pet safe sunscreen if your pets skin/fur is easy to sunburn.

📍 Identification Matters
Microchip & ID tags – Make sure your pet’s info is current. This helps reunite lost pets faster.

Snap a fresh photo – Just in case they get out, having a recent pic helps a lot.
