This girl has been here a little over 2.5 weeks. She was dropped off “green halter broke”. She now leads more respectfully, accepts fly spray, picks up all 4 feet, lunges free and on a line, disengages, gives to pressure, hard ties, has been cinched up with a surcingle, exposed to tarps on her and walked through, and today we had her first saddling! Smart cookie, yet going at the horse’s pace 🥰.

Recap from the NorthCoastHorse Editions show. I was able to take 3 amazing young ladies. They absolutely killed it, not only showed up, but also supported each other the entire weekend! Khaleesi and Duke won 1st in Equitation (against adults as she put it!) and placed respectfully well in her other classes. Ryleigh was able to secure Reserve Champion W/T English Pleasure horse with Caspian (along with other blues and great placements) and Caitlyn was able to secure Champion W/J Western Pleasure horse with her horse Marshall at their very first show together! So many laughs from these girls all weekend, we did not let the weather bring us down. Thankful for amazing horses and even more amazing riders I get to train. Congratulations ladies!

Let’s not forget to mention Lady May. Her 3rd show under saddle. Although she had her baby moments (and rightfully so with the torrential downpour/ hurricane we received while in the ring) she was able to recover quickly, and still maintained great composure for only having 35 rides in the past 2 years. My smart girl 😍.

This guy came in for a quick training last month- He bolted in hand from his owner, and just needed some confidence booster. My goal is not never make a horse dull, but to build their confidence, understand their reaction, and communicate that some of scary monsters are nothing to worry about.

I always like to train under “unexpected” conditions. Not only does it make horses more confident, it helps build trust in their riders. We can’t keep horses boxed up hoping nothing happens, but we sure can bring them up.

When you need to lunge the dog before a 4H Dog show (Wyatt was getting dressed). Nice flying lead changes Tipsy! 🤣😂
