Stormie, a beautiful Maine C**n, came to us with severe oral inflammation.

After a thorough evaluation, we extracted the teeth affected by advanced periodontal disease, removed the inflamed gingival tissue that had grown over portions of the remaining teeth, and applied a protective dental sealant to help reduce further plaque formation.

Our goal is always to relieve pain, preserve healthy teeth whenever possible, and help our patients enjoy a more comfortable, healthier life. We hope Stormie is feeling much better already 🖤🐾

Stormy presented with bilateral unerupted maxillary canine teeth. When teeth remain trapped beneath the gumline, they can lead to dentigerous cyst formation, resulting in bone loss and discomfort over time.

The arrows in these images highlight Stormy’s impacted canine teeth, which were confirmed on dental radiographs. To prevent future complications, both unerupted teeth were surgically extracted.

We’re happy to report that Stormy did great and is recovering well!

Stilton stopped by for his annual COHAT (Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment)! 🦷
His visit included a thorough oral examination, Cone Beam CT imaging to create detailed 3D views of his teeth, jawbone, nerves, and surrounding tissues, full-mouth dental radiographs, periodontal probing to evaluate gum health, and a professional dental cleaning with scaling and polishing.
Stilton had just one dental issue that needed attention: a fractured and abscessed upper fourth premolar. After safely extracting the tooth, he's now pain-free and sporting a healthy smile.
We love seeing Stilton each year and are grateful for all the corgi cuddles he brings with him. Thank you for trusting us with his care! 🤍

Meet Xena, a sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with The Cavalier Rescue ❤️

When Xena came to us, she had complete fractures on both sides of her lower jaw. One side had already healed, but the other had significant bone loss and never healed properly. Unfortunately the remaining bone was not strong enough to support traditional surgical repair with plates or wires.

To restore her ability to comfortably close her mouth and eat, we performed surgery to remove the damaged section of jawbone. During the procedure, all of her lower teeth were removed except for her two canine teeth due to advanced periodontal disease.

This was the best option to improve Xena’s comfort and function. We are excited to help her on the road to recovery and look forward to seeing her enjoy like with a healthier, pain-free mouth!

Thank you to thecavalierrescue for trusting us with this precious girl! 🐾

Bleu came to see us with a crown tip fracture on his upper left canine tooth and thanks to root canal therapy, we were able to save the tooth and get that smile back in action! ✨

A broken tooth is more than just cosmetic. Even small fractures can expose sensitive inner tissue and become painful over time. Thankfully, Bleu was a great patient, and now that tooth is protected and pain-free without needing an extraction!

Thank you Hampton Cove Animal Hospital & Covepets for the referral!

Dobby is famous on social media, and for good reason - his adorable 2 sets of ears!, but when he came to see us, it was his bite that needed the spotlight. ⭐️
He had a malocclusion causing his lower canine teeth to contact and traumatize the roof of his mouth. We shortened the crowns and placed protective layers of filling material to allow his tooth roots to continue maturing properly.
Now he’s more comfortable and back to doing what he does best - being uniquely adorable! 🐾
