In 2009, Dr. Gaddis completed the additional training and rigorous testing required to become board-certified by the ADVC. He is one of 200 veterinary dental specialists in the United States who have achieved board-certification from the AVDC, and he is the only one practicing in the state of Alabama.

😺 Lucky the Persian cat came to us with tooth resorption and broken crowns, leaving behind root fragments that can be painful and lead to infection. We removed the retained roots and smoothed the surrounding bone to prevent irritation and help his mouth heal comfortably. Lucky is already feeling better and on his way to a healthier, pain-free smile! 🦷💙

🦷🐱 Say hello to Moose — our sweet kitty patient with some seriously spooky fangs! 👻🧛‍♂️

Moose came in with his long upper canine teeth affected by periodontal disease. They looked dramatic, but more importantly — they were uncomfortable. 😿

We also found a few other teeth with broken crowns from resorptive lesions, so we carefully extracted the remaining roots to keep his mouth healthy and pain-free. 💪💕

Now Moose is feeling fang-tastic and ready to show off his new smile! 😸💫

Animal Dental Specialists (formerly Indian Springs Animal Clinic), is located in Pelham, Alabama, is a unique facility that focuses exclusively on animal dental care. Owner and board-certified animal dentist, Dr. Bert Gaddis, has been providing advanced dental care for pets in Birmingham and the surrounding areas since the late 1980’s.

He will partner with your primary care veterinarian to provide the skill and experience needed for your pet’s dental challenges. Services provided by Animal Dental Specialists include Complete Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT), digital dental radiography, endodontics, exodontics, oral masses, orthodontics, root planing, tooth resorption, treatment of broken teeth, and more.
