Meet Xena, a sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with The Cavalier Rescue ❤️

When Xena came to us, she had complete fractures on both sides of her lower jaw. One side had already healed, but the other had significant bone loss and never healed properly. Unfortunately the remaining bone was not strong enough to support traditional surgical repair with plates or wires.

To restore her ability to comfortably close her mouth and eat, we performed surgery to remove the damaged section of jawbone. During the procedure, all of her lower teeth were removed except for her two canine teeth due to advanced periodontal disease.

This was the best option to improve Xena’s comfort and function. We are excited to help her on the road to recovery and look forward to seeing her enjoy like with a healthier, pain-free mouth!

Bleu came to see us with a crown tip fracture on his upper left canine tooth and thanks to root canal therapy, we were able to save the tooth and get that smile back in action! ✨

A broken tooth is more than just cosmetic. Even small fractures can expose sensitive inner tissue and become painful over time. Thankfully, Bleu was a great patient, and now that tooth is protected and pain-free without needing an extraction!

Dobby is famous on social media, and for good reason - his adorable 2 sets of ears!, but when he came to see us, it was his bite that needed the spotlight. ⭐️
He had a malocclusion causing his lower canine teeth to contact and traumatize the roof of his mouth. We shortened the crowns and placed protective layers of filling material to allow his tooth roots to continue maturing properly.
Now he’s more comfortable and back to doing what he does best - being uniquely adorable! 🐾

Ace came in with two broken upper canines and left with a brand new smile 😎
We did root canals and placed custom crowns, and now he’s back to full golden retriever confidence with a slightly more luxurious bite ✨

Sweet Ava was in today for a routine dental cleaning! While we perform many complex surgeries, we also focus on regular dental care. By using Cone Beam CT and dental radiographs, we can detect hidden pathology and ensure every tooth and gum stays healthy! A healthy smile makes for a happy pup, and Ava is all smiles! 😁

Jude came to see us for a retained deciduous (baby) canine tooth. Her adult canine had already started erupting, but the baby tooth wasn’t loose and wasn’t going anywhere on its own. When baby teeth don’t fall out on schedule, they can crowd the adult teeth and potentially affect a dog’s bite (occlusion).
We extracted the retained tooth to give the adult canine the space it needs to erupt normally and help keep Jude’s smile healthy.

Early evaluation of puppy teeth can make a big difference in preventing future dental and orthodontic issues!
