Shelter Repair Update:
($13,000. is what the insurance came back with. And only for the roof...read on)
When Nova is not out on day visits with our wonderful volunteers she is stuck at the shelter. She's handling the reconstruction around her like a champ. I mean, nothing bothers her there. Look close, you'll see her in the photos.
Unfortunately NH state laws don't allow her to stay overnight at a volunteer's home unless it is a medical necessity. And our girl is healthy. So she waits, hoping her person or a family will discover her.
Our shelter received major damage in March when wind toppled a massive tree onto and destroying the roof and more. Directly over Nova's kennel.
The roof, the building, wiring, plumbing, fenced play area, and removal of more dangerous trees are what we are dealing with. We weren't the only ones to report damage. It took awhile for the insurance adjuster to come out to evaluate. And long again to get the report back.
$13,000. is what the insurance came back with. And only for the roof.
Just removing the other dangerous trees will likely be more than that. We have asked for a re-review of the insurance quote and pray there will be more we can work with.
We did receive almost $5,000. from ARNNE supporters at the beginning and that has helped get immediate necessities started.
Prior to the damage we were fundraising to add on a Quarantine Facility. It's more than just a building and will have to pass stringent building code tests. New dogs to a shelter have to be quarantined a minimum 48 hours for their safety and ours. It's our chance to evaluate their health, personalities, and temperament.
Without a Quarantine Facility dogs have to go to one of the few licensed in the state at a fee of about $100 a day for an average of 2 - 10 days.
We still need to build our Quarantine Facility as well as do shelter repairs.

We are going to fundraise, then fundraise, and fundraise some more. We have a Go Fund Me page almost ready to go live. We were waiting to find out what the insurance would help with.
