🐾 HELP SUPPORT LOCAL ANIMALS IN NEED 🐾
For the month of September Animal Control will be collecting unopened pet food and supplies to support our residents, local rescues and food pantries for the upcoming Holiday Season.

At the end of the month, all donations will be delivered to local residents, rescues and food pantries. Last years drive was amazing and I am hoping our community will help beat last year's numbers.

Please help support our local animal and our community by dropping off an unopened bag or can of food, blanket or toy at the North Andover Police Station, Town Hall or Senior Center.

🦉8/31/26 Update: Released back into the wild in North Andover.

On the early hours of Monday, August 24, 2026 the NAPD Communications Center received a call for a downed owl on High Street and with the swift action of Sgt. Nigro and Officer Graef the owl was rescued, transported to ACO DiCenzo, where she was evaluated and later transported to Newhouse Wildlife Rescue for medical attention.

After six days under their amazing care, she has been treated and medically cleared to return back to North Andover to be released back into the wild.

Outstanding job Sgt. Nigro, Ofc. Graef and Newhouse Wildlife Rescue staff.

🐾 Frannie Update:

Frannie's mandated stray hold is over. She was transferred to a local rescue, where she was placed into a Foster Home.

💒 Rumor has it Frannie has already been adopted and her new name is Peeps.

🐥 Annual Chicken Coop Inspections are right around the corner 🐥
ACO DiCenzo will be starting his 2026 Coop Inspections on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Please make sure your permit is up to date with the North Andover Health Department. If you are unsure of your permit status, please contact Jennifer Battersby @ 978-688-9540

🚨Pupdate 🐾

ACO DiCenzo has received a lot of calls from rescues, residence and people from far away inquiring about me.

I have gone to the vet and due to being very thin and on the run for so long I have been put on a prescription diet, medications and have been placed on a quarantine because I have a minor wound.

I had a pampering session, where I got a bath, my nails trimmed and all the ticks removed. I feel like a princess 👑 

I also have a name now….the vet staff and ACO DiCenzo have named me Frannie.

ACO DiCenzo promises me that he will update the community with my progress but I understand I have a long road ahead of me till I’m ready to search for my new forever home.

🚨 Pupdate 🚨

The infamous Black Dog that has been roaming around for over a month in the South Bradford Street area of North Andover is now in custody of Animal Control. 

Thank you to everyone that has called in sightings, allowed ACO DiCenzo to take over their yard to set traps.

A vet appointment is scheduled and updates will be posted in the next few days.
