Up next to kid is Juneau! She’s a full Nubian and bred to an F2 mini lamancha cause she only had eyes for him and not any of my other 8 bucks who would have been a better choice! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ She’s wrapping up our first part of our 2025 kidding season.
All boys will be available as wethers and we’re planning to retain a doeling to join our milking herd. Juneau is by far our heaviest producer. She may not have a pretty udder, but boy does she produce!

Up next to kid is my heart goat, Legacy! She’s looking mighty large and in charge and has historically always had quadruplets and always 3 bucks and 1 doe. Hoping that’s the same this time as she’s carrying our future herdsire!

She’s bred to 4 Cousins TS Jack Sparrow +B. He’s homozygous for blue eyes (meaning all kids will be blue eyed) and he’s polled in addition to having proven himself as a sire to milk star earners.

Legacy had quads when she was bred to Jack in 2021 and her only daughter from that litter easily earned her milk star as a first freshener and even out milked Legacy that first year.

Legacy always struggles during her later pregnancy with pregnancy ketosis (meaning she can’t eat enough to sustain herself and her growing kids so she starts metabolizing the fat reserves sun her body (think Atkins diet). We’ve been closely monitoring her blood ketone levels daily since February 1st and have been monitoring twice daily for the last month and offering extra nutritional support tailored to her needs each day and keeping a very close eye on her. So far, she’s been doing great with the extra support.

Her due date is 5/5 and I can’t wait to see her be a mama again. She’s the best mama and loves being in that role.

Praying for a safe labor and delivery for her above all else, but fingers crossed for a few boys to choose from and hopefully a doeling as well. Hoping the next week is smooth sailing for her as her pregnancy concludes and we welcome her kids into the world.

A Real Field of Dreams: Serenity Oaks Homestead’s Story

Serenity Oaks Homestead is a 6 acre farm established in 2015 and is home to pasture raised flocks of Welsh Harlequin, Pekin, Muscovy and Indian Runner ducks as well as several guard geese. Our water fowl are pasture raised and receive no medications, antibiotics or hormones, and live as naturally as possible so the eggs they lay and the ducklings they raise are of superior quality. We have ducklings as well as fertile duck eggs for hatching and duck eggs for eating/baking available.

You'll also find our large flock of pasture raised chickens roaming free on the property as they spend their days searching for bugs and vegetation. Our chickens are raised without the use of antibiotics, hormones or medications and provide our farm fresh eggs, fertile eggs for hatching and chicks we offer for sale.

Niles and Frasier, our rescued horses as well as three rescued miniature donkeys also call Serenity Oaks home. One of the donkey's is one of only 9 registered therapy donkeys in the US and is able to visit assisted living homes, schools and many other places providing compassion and reassurance to those who need it most.

Our ever expanding herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats can be found browsing for weeds and sunbathing upon their many climbing platforms while raising their kids and providing the milk for our raw milk sales as well as cheese, soap and other goat milk products. Our goats are disease tested yearly and we maintain a Florida Feed Master License (Z004323). We never utilize any milk from goats who are receiving medication and our goats only receive the highest quality of hay, non-medicated grain and have access to pasture all day long.
