Officially 30 days from our first due dates and we can’t wait to have babies bouncing around again. First up are Raven and Topaz. Both these ladies are first fresheners from milk star producing lines both top and bottom and both will be going on test themselves. Raven will be working to earn her 4* and Topaz will be working to earn her 2*. Both Raven and Topaz are sired by a +B proven buck and are bred to bucks with heavy, proven milking lines. In an effort to get my herd size back down to more manageable numbers, all kids will be available.

Raven is carrying F2 mini Lamanchas and Topaz is carrying F2 mini Nubians.

These 3 breeding happened today!

Mirage is bred to Chip for F1 Mini Lamanchas. Wattles and moonspots likely and definitely a lot of milk behind this dynamic duo! Mirage’s dam was Top 10 as a FF and likely to make that list again in 2025. Chip’s dam milked over 1100 # as a 2F and his paternal grandma was on the elite list 3 times. Mirage will go on test and be a 3*.

Verona and Jack will have *B bucklings and have a ton of proven milk on both sides. Verona’s paternal granddam was on the elite list 3 times, her dam milked 1100 # as a 2F and Jack has 3 ADGA daughters who have earned their milk stars along with MDGA daughters who have earned them as well. Kids will be blue eyed as Jack is homozygous and kids will possibly be polled.

Party and Jester also sport heavy milking genetics on both sides. Jester’s dam is a 3* and Party’s dam is a 2*. Party will go on test and be a 3*. Jester’s sire is +B and Party’s sire is *B. Polled and moonspots possible with this pairing.

“Liesl” (SerenityOaks MJ Music To My Ears) is all smiles after officially earning her 2*P milk star (she’s actually a 3*, but until ADGA awards the milk star to her grandma from 2021, she can only claim the 2). Huge congrats, Liesl as this news is also Music To OUR ears! 🌟 🥛

Presenting Legacy, a goat in a coat! Legacy has been battling ketosis since April and this cold front will take too much energy out of her to keep warm, so my spoiled princess is sporting a blanket tonight, warm water delivered to her stall, all the peanut hay she wants and some extra dextrose and molasses support as well. Ketones look good tonight on the blood meter and hoping they look good in the morning too. She was nearly weaned off of all support and then this cold front decided to show up, so gotta give my bestest girl all the extra comforts and support. 😘 🐐

A Real Field of Dreams: Serenity Oaks Homestead’s Story

Serenity Oaks Homestead is a 6 acre farm established in 2015 and is home to pasture raised flocks of Welsh Harlequin, Pekin, Muscovy and Indian Runner ducks as well as several guard geese. Our water fowl are pasture raised and receive no medications, antibiotics or hormones, and live as naturally as possible so the eggs they lay and the ducklings they raise are of superior quality. We have ducklings as well as fertile duck eggs for hatching and duck eggs for eating/baking available.

You'll also find our large flock of pasture raised chickens roaming free on the property as they spend their days searching for bugs and vegetation. Our chickens are raised without the use of antibiotics, hormones or medications and provide our farm fresh eggs, fertile eggs for hatching and chicks we offer for sale.

Niles and Frasier, our rescued horses as well as three rescued miniature donkeys also call Serenity Oaks home. One of the donkey's is one of only 9 registered therapy donkeys in the US and is able to visit assisted living homes, schools and many other places providing compassion and reassurance to those who need it most.

Our ever expanding herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats can be found browsing for weeds and sunbathing upon their many climbing platforms while raising their kids and providing the milk for our raw milk sales as well as cheese, soap and other goat milk products. Our goats are disease tested yearly and we maintain a Florida Feed Master License (Z004323). We never utilize any milk from goats who are receiving medication and our goats only receive the highest quality of hay, non-medicated grain and have access to pasture all day long.
