Kozar and Bogatyr are officially home! Thank you to Four Daughters Farms for letting these 2 sweet boys join our security team and for taking such good care of them the last 8 weeks! Can’t wait to get them integrated into their new roles and look forward to many years of raising goats beside them.

Dams dam milked over 2200 pounds as a 2F and was Top 10 as a FF and I suspect she will make that list again in October.

Sires side has a 3x elite doe in his pedigree and his dam milked over 1100 pounds as a 2F. Sires littermate sister easily starred her first lactation and milked just shy of 800 pounds with only a singleton.

TONS of proven milk behind this girl. She should sport high butterfat being 3/4 Nigerian and not eat as much since she will be a little smaller.

Dam just easily earned her milk star on a one day test and will continue for her advanced registry star.

Help us welcome Tsuki and Cooper! They are Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD’s) who will be on patrol in our newly constructed back goat pen. They are both from a fabulous rescue for LGD’s in Kentucky and we are so excited to give these dogs a forever home.

Tsuki is a 2.5 year old Anatolian/Great Pyrenees mix (heavy on the Anatolian) and Cooper is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian mix (heavy on the Pyrenees). Both previously lived on other farms and with goats and were surrendered when their families lives changed and resulted in moves or divorces where they no longer had farms.

They are settling in great and will have a few days without goats to worry about while they decompress from their 850 mile journey to their new home, learn our routines and get to know their territory and get some much needed rest.

They are both already patrolling their new pasture and alerting to birds of prey, any perceived threat and trying to figure out what those little lizards are that are everywhere!

There’s a heavy coyote, bobcat and fox presence behind us as well as possums and raccoons. Hoping we can actually have chickens again as both Tsuki and Cooper are poultry safe too!

In 2 weeks they will be charged with helping us raise up an Anatolian/Great Pyrenees puppy, Bogatyr (Bogey) so we can ensure we have another dog at the ready when Tsuki and Cooper hit retirement age.

Welcome home Tsuki and Cooper. We’re looking forward to many years of partnership with you!

And don’t worry, we still have Faith and Argus out with our milking herd. They are also welcoming a puppy, Kozar, in a couple weeks as Faith is turning 7 next month and starting to slow down a little. Most farms add a new dog every 4 or so years so there’s a dog ready to move into a lead role as one transitions to a more relaxed role as they age.

If you’re looking for a LGD, they have many dogs still waiting for their second chance and forever homes. Huge congrats to Party, Candy and Mirage on earning their milk stars on a one day test. These ladies will continue to finish up their 305 day advanced registry tests, but happy to have them earn these in the meantime!

And that’s a wrap to spring 2026 kidding season! Mariah and Jack welcomed twin DOES! Our final count ended up with 15 kids in total and 11, yes you read that right, 11 were DOES! We had 73% does this year. I’ve never had that many does in a season.

Our last doe to kid for spring of 2026 is Mariah. She’s bred to Jack and due Friday. Her kids will all be available and will all be blue eyed and possibly polled in addition to bringing heavy and proven milk genetics from both sides stretching through the entire pedigree. Party FINALLY released her hostage at 153 days after having to be induced and it was worth the wait as she had a single DOELING this morning at 630 without any complications. This little lady is already spoken for and will be going to her new home with Mirage’s doeling at weaning.
